Some of y’all Black folks sound absolutely RIDICULOUS when it comes to the WNBA. “You’re Black, so you should be rooting for Angel Reese. If you don’t, you’re a coon!” WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF LOGIC IS THAT? 😂 So let me get this straight. I’m supposed to root for Angel Reese because she’s Black, but if I root for another team with OTHER BLACK WOMEN on it, suddenly I’m anti-Black? DO Y’ALL HEAR HOW STUPID THAT SOUNDS? And let me make something else VERY clear. I don’t root for Angel Reese, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with her being Black. I don’t like the behavior, the unnecessary antics, or what I see as the divisive, race-centered discourse surrounding her. And I believe she’s contributed to that environment instead of doing enough to discourage it. But somehow, because I don’t support HER, I’m supposed to be against ALL Black women? THE WNBA IS FULL OF BLACK WOMEN! A’ja Wilson is Black. Napheesa Collier is Black. Kelsey Mitchell is Black. The list goes on! So why is Angel Reese the one Black woman I’m REQUIRED to support to prove my Blackness? BLACKNESS IS NOT A FAN CLUB MEMBERSHIP!!!!! You don’t get to weaponize race, question another Black person’s identity, and then turn around and pretend you’re fighting racism. Some of y’all aren’t advocating for Black women. You’re demanding loyalty to ONE player and using race to bully anybody who disagrees. That’s not Black empowerment. That’s hypocrisy. Like, comment, share.

One thing you can easily take away from this playoff run by AR and the  dream is that they have a very toxic fanbase. The way they have downplayed the Valkyrie’s blackness and have said so many blatant racist remarks about the other players is wild. I don’t wanna hear anything about Caitlin’s fanbase anymore being the lone toxic fanbase.
