"Cornish-born, Cornish-bred, Joan had known that this need to reconnect with the sea lived in all of them. Now, every time they made their way to the coast they paid her tribute, along with the obeisance due to the waves."

🎥 OUT THE CUP & FANS OUT OF PATIENCE??
🗓️ 7th November 2026
🏆 FA Cup
🆚 Barrow
🏟️ Priestfield Stadium
A cup run will have to be put on hold for another year as we bowed out at the first hurdle for the second year running.
The game was fairly even throughout, but it was our visitors who ultimately managed to find that one big moment.
Both sides enjoyed a mixture of getting into good areas and having some good chances during the first period, but we probably had the clearer of those opportunities without capitalising.
The second half was more stop start & lacking in goal mouth action - with each keeper making just one save of note each - but both teams were still trying to get things done in 90 minutes.
Sadly for us it was our opponents who managed to win it in injury time, and the full time whistle was met with a chorus of boos & chanting.
All the best to Barrow in the next round & for the rest of the season.

This is the state of the uk’s oldest cinema today. @RichParkerLab wrote a letter in April demanding owners Glenbrook Property do better. They responded by totally abandoning the building.
Please stand up for Brummies & CPO it!

Shrewsbury fans singing in the rain here at Eastleigh after #salop book their place in the second round of the FA Cup with a hard-earned 2-1 victory. Great response from Town to Eastleigh's late equaliser with Tom Sang impressively setting up the winner for sub Isaac Fletcher. – at Eastleigh, England

We get a mention in the letters section of the @Telegraph today. The author is absolutely right, lesbians, gays & bisexuals are being used as camouflage to ensure Self ID is secured in law. The Bill is a transgender recruiters Charter, a shameful state of affairs.

Wayne Rooney has been named pundit of the year at the Broadcast Sport Awards. Well deserved. He is refreshingly blunt. As seen here when he spoke his mind about the half time show during the World Cup final.

“One question I've heard repeatedly from detransitioners..after undergoing gender transition & regretting it is:
‘Why didn't anyone ask me what I was doing?’ Nobody had asked the most obvious question of all: ‘Why are you doing this? Are you sure?’
