In 1899 the Rio Cobre was dammed and a hydroelectric station built to power #Kingston #Jamaica’s tram-cars. It included the largest pipe in the world. “Only one white man was actually engaged in the construction of this pipe…The plates were assembled, placed in position, erected, and riveted entirely by native workmen.” #Jamaicans

This is what I like about @christufton, marketing to the private sector for an urgent care facility in the Portland area. #Hotline with @emilymshields. Good move!

A difference in position doesn’t rise to the level of Parliamentary misconduct.
The Opposition should be called out for attempting to abuse the Parliamentary Process by agreeing to a motion and then trying to use a Parliamentary disciplinary process with absolutely no basis.

Not everyone who disagrees with you is trying to disrespect you. Sometimes they simply see things differently.💙

Dear @RepJeffries, pls do not extend the PTC. That money goes directly to the big insurance companies. The law allows them to keep 15pct of the 26b as profit. But it gets worse.
They can game that number with their subsidiaries.
They will deny care and make patients fight to get the care they need.
With or without the PTC the deductibles are unaffordable, and the max patient OOP is worse. If you can't pay the deductible, all you did is give the money for free to the insurance companies that we should break up
What should we do ? See my next week for some suggestions
Leader Jeffries: We also need to extend the ACA tax credits, which have resulted in tens of millions of folks losing health care or being forced to pay premiums that, in some cases, have increased by up to $1000 or more a month. These are working class Americans, or middle-class Americans, who are having to bear the brunt of this dramatic increase in health care costs.

Yesterday, I had an important dialogue with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Honourable Andy Burnham.
Jamaica is deepening its partnership with the United Kingdom, particularly in supporting our rebuilding efforts.
On Sunday, we signed a four-year agreement to accelerate reconstruction following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
The agreement also seeks to strengthen Jamaica’s resilience in the face of future disasters.
