Putting up billboards because you disagree with someone is actually a pretty good example of exercising your First Amendment rights.

Yup Harmeet is a rockstar who did wonders for civil rights.
The Atlantic blames @HarmeetKDhillon for the “destruction” of the DOJ’s civil rights division on the grounds that 70% of the Biden-era lawyers who worked there quit during her tenure. What The Atlantic does not tell you is that Dhillon’s predecessor was progressive activist Kristen Clarke, an extremely controversial Biden appointment who, prior to joining the DOJ, was best known for antisemitism. She famously invited the author of a hate tract called “The Jewish Question” to speak on the Harvard campus under the auspices of the Black Student Union. At DOJ, Clarke used the Civil Rights division to force state and local governments to adopt illegal DEI programs and dismantle policing and criminal justice enforcement. She was the threat of government legal action pushing the adoption of the most noxious woke policies during the Biden era. She did immense damage to the DOJ and the country, she forced the adoption of unpopular and ineffective policies and she filled her department with ideologues, activists and diversity hires who do not belong anywhere near the levers of power. The transformation of the Civil Rights Division and the removal of Kristen Clarke’s loyalists is one of the biggest accomplishments of the Trump administration. Dhillon is a hero and has done a great service to her country.

Doctor: “Congratulations! You’ve been in a coma for twelve years but just woke up.” Patient: “Amazing! What’d I miss?” Ross Douthat on the hospital TV: “You did occasionally call him ‘Talafreako.’” Donald Trump, president of the United States: “I also call many of them ‘dumbocrats.’”
In an interview airing Sunday on 60 Minutes, correspondent Ross Douthat asks President Trump: If it took six months of not insulting the Democrats to get a deal done, do you think you could do it?

BREAKING: California voters just passed Prop 37. Buyers of newly built homes can now put down 3% instead of 20%. How: the state lends you the other 17% as a second mortgage, funded by up to $25 billion in bonds. On an $800,000 home that's $24,000 down instead of $160,000.

Agreed. The president consulted them and chose someone terrific—who had a hearing and should have no R opposition. The time for behind-the-scenes quibbling/negotiating is past. The judicial noms on the table need to be confirmed during the lame duck - it’s the last train out.
President Trump nominated U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Arkansas Lee Rudofsky to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. This appellate court covers Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. There is a very limited window to confirm Rudofsky--before Senate Democrats block him. Arkansas' two Republican home-state senators--@JohnBoozman and @TomCottonAR--are blocking Rudofsky, as they wanted someone else. (They have @JohnCornyn and @SenThomTillis doing their bidding for them.) They need to change their minds--and fast--or Republicans will lose this key appellate court seat. Cornyn and Tillis are leaving the Senate. But this is an unforgivable sin for Boozman and Cotton.

So to her great credit did my mother, fortunately she tells me she laughed out loud at my gaffe for which I have apologised.
I had a little chuckle at the opening paragraph of Jacob Rees-Mogg's latest piece.

Ron DeSantis is like that one employee who survived mass layoffs because he was the only one who did his job and now he can shit talk all his former coworkers and they can't do shit because he's the only one left standing.
🇺🇸 Ron DeSantis attacks the Republican Party's decision to run Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio: "My mom's from Youngstown. Ohio is a working-class state, very blue-collar. You know, Vivek, he's like a tech guy, did this Alzheimer's drug, and he wants to bring in people, foreign worker on visas."

In Kansas, while Republican Kris Kobach lost the attorney general race by 1.2 points and Republican Ty Masterson lost race for governor by 0.6 points, Roger Marshall managed to lose his Senate seat by 6 points. xitter.gq/daveweigel/status/2118…
Another one I missed last night: Kansas AG Kris Kobach down by 11,000 votes. In 2020, Rs prodded Marshall into the Senate race out of fear that Kobach would win the nomination and blow it. And now they're both #OpenToWork nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

I vividly remember Kelly’s loss in 2016 as Republicans were swept into power and she came up short by 1000 votes. 10 years later, Republicans were swept out of power virtually everywhere, yet Kelly won by 3.3% due to her relentless commitment to the state. Good reminder of the long arc of politics.
I want to thank the people of New Hampshire for our victory last night and the opportunity to continue the work of keeping our state safe, prosperous, and free.  I promise to work tirelessly to ensure that we defend the New Hampshire Advantage and keep working to solve our housing crisis, make childcare more affordable, and bring down energy prices. I believe in our state and our people, and together we will work to make life more affordable for everyone.
