shattering the class ceiling is all well and good but how are people meant to do that when they can't afford food because of a benefit cap you refuse to remove, or energy because you refuse to nationalise, or tuition fees you're going to keep?
Congratulations to those getting their A-Level results today. I remember opening that envelope. My results allowed me to become the first in my family to go to university. That's why I will shatter the class ceiling, so that all young people have the opportunities they deserve.

Speaking on the BBC R4 Today programme, health secretary Steve Barclay claimed NHS consultants receive tax-free pensions. This is incorrect. Pensions for consultants are subject to the same tax rules that apply to all pensioners. buff.ly/44bRB0C

Number of Asylum Seekers in the last 5.5 years 100,000. Number of people waiting in the longest queue in the world for NHS treatment 7,600,000. Do some maths and tell me it is Asylum Seekers delaying your treatment. No, it isn’t.

Rishi Sunak is considering letting Thames Water raise their bills 47% to pay the interest on their debts. That will force over 2 million households to pay for their fake 'profits' or go without Water. RT if the Conservatives can shove this idea where the sun doesn't shine

Saving money? Jamie Pherous was given at least £1.6bn to provide barges to house migrants for ONLY 2 years. There was no competition and the deal was done in secret. Just how much money did the owner of CTM ’donate’ to Conservatives to get this ridiculous payday?

You might believe, as much of the government pretends to do, that there is a legal or logical basis to the claim that refugees should stay in France. But language like 30p Lee's is deliberately designed make ignorance & bigotry mainstream Tory policy. And it's all on @RishiSunak.

Only 55% of Brits think everyone should be able to afford a television. In today’s @guardian I wrote about the insistence that people on benefits and low wages should have to live a life of misery - a kind of penance for their capitalist failure. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

An overdue dystopia warning about how billionaire non-dom press barons choose our leaders, how GBeebies presenters are disaster capitalist shills and how the PM is profiting from oil during a climate crisis, so the protests should go harder. The bitch is back. Fuck the Tories.
