A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.
A @GoFundMe campaign raised more than £55,000 for a Gaza family trying to escape the war.
Most of the money raised never reached them.
Banking rules and sanctions prevent direct payouts in Gaza, so the funds had to go through an intermediary. When that arrangement collapsed, the family was left without the support raised for them.
Bitcoin platforms like Agora and Geyser send funds directly to recipients’ own wallets, using community verification instead of giving control to a single intermediary.
Read how these tools are helping people in crisis.

Back up your wallet with a passkey or 24 recovery words. If you lose your phone or forget your Kesh Pin, your backup gets your wallet back.
Also new: the people you pay often sit at the top of search, and you can now share a receipt as soon as you pay a merchant

We get charged a small fee on every mobile money payment, so it’s easy to lose track of how much all those fees actually add up to.
At @UseKesh we just shipped a feature that keeps a running total of what you would have paid in M-Pesa fees for the same transactions. And by the way, we don’t charge any fees.
Here’s how much I’ve saved in fees since I started transacting on Kesh in June:

Lots of Security incidents today, here's some practical tips for those who just wanna protect yourself:
1) UPDATE EVERYTHING - main targets are:
a) Browsers - Chrome, Safari, Firefox
b) OS: : Settings -> General -> software update; Linux: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade; Windows: I think there's a button. Do this for any remote home servers & Openclaw/hermes boxes
c) Phones: Update it all
d) Desktop apps (Slack, Cursor, Discord, etc)
2) Limit web browsing this week: Stay within walled gardens (twitter, youtube, etc); don't click random links this week. Just wait until the patches go through. Do step 1 again after a week.
3) Avoid untrusted Wifi networks until your devices are updated
4) Stay vigilant about phishing emails offering "certificate fixes" or fraud updates
5) Have an iPhone 11-16? TURN BLUETOOTH OFF for the time being until apple patches come through.
6) Code/Dev: UPDATE ALL YOUR REPOS - @charliermarsh has already updated uv 0.13.4 which reacts to the eMudra incident for uv (Python), Typesript according to Claude has equivelant. Tell your agents to go and update all your active repos to update package manager across uv, npm, bun, cargo, etc etc
What advice did I miss?

I ran for president because I wanted to build a country that wouldn’t need me as president. 🧡🇸🇷
Suriname had a narrow window to become one of the first countries to follow El Salvador onto a Bitcoin standard. To prove that a different future was possible.
For a moment,
we almost pulled it off. 🧵

ANTHROPIC JUST RAN AN AI THAT COPIES ITSELF ONTO A $55 SMART TV BOX. AND THERE IS NO OFF SWITCH.
Their own red team spent this month trying to build an AI worm. It worked.
No datacenter, no cloud, just cheap boxes sitting in people's homes:
- 15 off-brand Android TV boxes, $55 each
- a 9B model booted on 8 of 9 device types they tested
- GLM-5.2 ran the whole chain alone: find a device, copy its own weights across, boot up, go hunting for the next one
- every copy reaches a new host every 1-2 days
Now the part that should scare you.
They measured it against a botnet that already took 2,000,000 home devices. That many boxes = roughly 133,000 live AI copies at once, about 40 H100s of compute, humming inside fridges and ovens nobody is watching.
In their own words, there is "no centralized point to shut off".
You cannot patch a worm that lives in two million kitchens.
The best security teams on earth audit every line before they ship. Nobody audits the $55 box behind your TV.
CRAWLHIVE + JEV + GROK BOTS: 9 FEATURES IN 3 DAYS. ONE F*CKING PERSON.
repo: github.com/h100envy/crawl-hi…
three days ago crawlhive was a scanner with crawlers behind it
today it's a different product
every competitor says trust me. we shipped a page that shows every miss we made instead
9 major features. full breakdown of each with real numbers
> jev decides if a signal is worth attention in 0.5 seconds for $0.00002
> tokens that pumped scored 66–83%, the ones that dumped 49–55%, scam 3%
> 29 signals cost $0.0008 total
> grok bot sits on duty over a crawler and calls LOOK / WATCH / AVOID
> jev handles the confident ones, grok gets called only for the doubtful
> chatgpt, claude, meta muse, cursor connect in one click via oauth
> grok bot via mcp
> the agent wakes up only when there's something new and doesn't burn credits for nothing
> track record checks every verdict against the real price for 24 hours
> the misses are visible on purpose
> launch radar scans fresh launches on solana, bnb chain and robinhood chain every 3 minutes
> a full app inside telegram: scan, radar, watchlist, crawlers in one bot
> answers contract addresses right in groups
> watches for rugs for 7 days
> 24 hours later it tells you itself whether the verdict came true
> bnb chain and every solana launchpad including meteora
> AI costs dropped 8–50x
> ceiling of ~$1.25 a day no matter the traffic
> security audit: several agents went through the whole codebase
> every finding checked by hand
> more than a dozen holes closed before anyone else found them
now the main part
3 hours after launch track record showed a pattern
tokens under a day old with linked wallets and a fresh dev wallet were passing as CLEAN and then rugging
SUKI with 12 linked wallets and a dev under an hour old passed as OK and rugged
we changed the rule the same day
now those tokens can't score above RISKY
that's the whole point of a public track record. it shows where the scanner is weak before the market does
no competitor does this. for them it's still on the roadmap
full breakdown in the article with screenshots and how each piece works inside
which scanner besides us shows you where it got it wrong?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Anthropic's Oct 12 research describes controlled lab tests projecting that small models may gain self-replication capabilities on IoT devices in coming months, but no actual autonomous worm was built, run, or deployed on real consumer hardware. anthropic.com/research/self-…

Omarchy Mobile quick demo. Recorded on my Pixel 7 Pro running Omarchy! (In before you didn't show <insert feature here.>)
Omandroid has a new name: Omarchy Mobile 📱
It was never Android. It's native Omarchy (Arch Linux ARM, Hyprland, Omarchy's own packages) on a mainline Linux kernel, right on a Pixel 7 Pro. No Android underneath.
New repos (old links redirect):
github.com/derekross/omarchy…
github.com/derekross/linux-o…
Hardware: display at 120 Hz, GPU, touch, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio, battery, haptics, torch, sensors and auto-rotate, GPS, NFC (read/write tags) and fingerprint unlock (opt-in) all work. Speakers work but are still quiet. Ultrawide camera works; main and front are in progress. The modem now boots and talks to the phone; calls, SMS and data need a SIM, that's next. Sleep is in progress.
The last two days in software:
• swipeable home screens with ~50 built-in widgets, from @simonschubert's Omalauncher
• "Create with AI": describe a widget, Omarchy's default agent builds it
• editable quick settings
• one app per screen
• mirror the phone's screen to your laptop over USB
And an installer! I'm super happy to annonce this. It can all be done with a few commands. GUI/website later. Build the root image on your laptop, then tools/install-phone asks for your user name, password and Wi-Fi, checks the phone, and writes only slot B and userdata. Stock Android stays on slot A as your way back. First boot sets everything up, and tools/phone-provision pulls the phone-specific firmware from your own Pixel factory image (no Google files redistributed). The first clean install with it is happening on my phone as I write this. Steps are in the README.
Fair warning: this is EXPERIMENTAL! Unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone, expect rough edges, Pixel 7 Pro only for now. Pixel 6 and 8a ports are starting via contributors. Addtional contributors welcome 🤙

Kenyan-founded space technology startup Satlyt has raised $8 million (KSh1.04 billion) in seed funding led by non sibi ventures, with participation from TLCOM, Antler, Launch Africa Ventures and others.
Founded in 2024 by Rama Afullo, a former SpaceX and Google engineer, the company builds software that lets satellites process data and run AI applications onboard, sending back results instead of raw data, and aims to link spacecraft from different operators into virtual AI data centres in space.
Satlyt has disclosed NASA support worth $4 million and signed memoranda of understanding with the Kenya Space Agency and Angola’s GGPEN, though these are not confirmed commercial contracts or completed satellite deployments.
