If you search “item lock” in PTCGL’s card search engine, nothing comes up.
So I built Decklab.
The card search engine that actually speaks Pokemon TCG.
And I’m excited to finally share it with you! 🧵
After the Rushfire ban, almost everyone moved away from fire and the general consensus was “fires not good anymore”. I wanted to challenge myself to make it work, and pretty much committed to taking Zero/Ragefire to Peoria
It was challenging, but I eventually landed on a build that saw a significant amount of success for me, helping me climb to 18th on the winner leaderboard. S/o to Jbae for the foundation. Everyone’s been asking to see the list so here it is
Below is what I took to Peoria. It’s what I’ve been using for the last couple months and the same list I used to win at LA HQ on stream, except a week before Peoria I added 2 Ed and removed 1 Renji and 1 Ritualist. They helped a lot, especially into earth and water, but I think they might have moved my curve too far in the wrong direction against the aggro matchups
I knew it matched up great into earth and water, and could hold its own into lightning, but didn’t have a lot of practice into the mirror as most people stopped playing fire. I wasn’t expecting to see 3 mirror matches, and struggled against the lists that ran lower to the ground
It was consistent though, and I was able to play my game in pretty much all but 1 of the matches, where I mullied into two 5 drops, two 6 drops, and no 1 drops vs the mirror
Rd 1 L to “no decklist” 😭
Rd 2 W v ⚡️
Rd 3 W v 💦
Rd 4 L v 🔥 (top 8)
Rd 5 W v 🔥
Rd 6 L v 🔥 (top 8)
S/o to everyone who helped me test and especially the @AzukiAftrDark squad for getting me ready
Excited to see what set 2 has to offer
Hit an Azuki local in Chicago before heading out and of course I get paired into the regional champ rd 1 😭
Second Azuki Regionals in the books, this time in Peoria
Not the record I wanted but still was able to lock down top 32 and secure the stamped promos (a wins a win)
Proud of how far I took fire. Excited to start cooking up a deck for set 2
Pro tip: screenshot after you submit your deck so if for whatever reason the system says you didn’t submit it, you can prove you did and avoid a rd1 loss 😅
Major congrats to @Yq1119apzzQun for an epic run at the Azuki Peoria Regional. Very well deserved victory 👏
Sleeping on a red eye from LA to Chicago does not hit the same as sleeping on a red eye from LA to NY
I didn’t consider it was a shorter flight… I’m so tired rn
Never used to sleep on planes but ever since I started I can’t go back. It’s literally time travel. See yall in Chicago
Bubbling out of top cut because the person who beat you rd1 lost every single other game they played gotta be a bottom 2 feeling of all time
This was my only loss and it cost me top 4 so I didn’t score any winner points 😭
Just lost the first game of an Azuki tourney because I subtracted 2 from my opponents health after attacking for 3
Not sure how I missed it, my buddy called me right after with screenshots (it’s streamed)
Tough way to lose out on 1st place but good it happened before regionals
Everyone wants you to win.
When you go to an interview, the hiring manager is hoping you’re perfect for the job and the last person they have to interview.
When you go on a date, your date is hoping to meet the love of their life, and never go on another first date again.
When you speak in public, the audience is there waiting to learn something from you.
No one’s hoping for you to fail. Everyone wants you to win.
The @CallofDuty MW4 pop up in LA was a huge bummer. Waited over an hour and they were out of food, didn’t let us play the game, didn’t let us do the scavenger hunt, and kicked us out after a 1 minute game clip that was mid at best. Nothing like what was promised in any of the promo videos
Congrats to the homie @ObscureStretch on an awesome premiere for his new short film El Silbon releasing tomorrow! 👏
