war poem by S Chapman aged 8
War is green,
The sound of bombs exploding,
Mouldy bread lingering on my tongue,
The cold of the metal buttons on the British uniform,
The smell of horrible meat,
Seeing soldiers fighting through binoculars. – at South East, England
