I flew out to Alberta this past week to film some Canadian history videos, eat at my favourite mexican restaurant and see what is happening RE referendum. I left with a lot of π¨π¦ love in my heart. The dozen or so independence signs I saw over 400kms were dwarfed by the countless Canadian flags - and the anthem at the Flames game made things clear. Things I already knew - Albertans are proud Canadians. Albertans are Canadian - and I'm damn proud they are. π¨π¦β€οΈ

Today in Vancouver, I had a message for Alberta on referendum day: we share families, jobs, a border and a lot of history. We donβt always see eye to eye. We argue, and we stay together. Youβre our neighbours and our family, and this country is better with you in it.
Every British Columbian I talk to wants a strong, united Canada. We have people we love on the other side of those mountains. We count on them, and they count on us.
Thatβs how Canada was built: people in every province choosing each other, generation after generation. Itβs carried us through hard times before, and it will carry us through whatever comes next.
I love British Columbia. I love this country. I will always stand up for a united Canada, because our Canada includes Alberta.
