Season 87-88 - despite sitting bottom and getting pumped every week, Morton could still rely on Aberdeen to turn up at Cappielow and fail to deliver as we drew 0-0 with Ian Porterfield's side.

Sugar Osborne had put Morton ahead at Airdrie in the first half when this Columb McKinley own goal, described by Arthur Montford, gave us a 2-0 win.
This may be the oldest colour TV footage of us.

Gary Oliver put Morton ahead at Dunfermline before the hosts levelled. Gozie Ugwu restored our lead in the second half and Oliver sealed a 3-1 win with a late penalty against his favourite opposition.

Morton's 1st and 3rd goals from a 3-0 win at Arbroath, technically scored by Peter Weatherson and Jason Walker, but I'm giving credit for both to their keeper Neil Inglis.
Paul Walker scored the other with a deflected effort.

Andy McLaren scores from the kick-off as Morton faced Dumbarton at Cappielow. We'd go on to win 4-0 thanks to a Derek Lilley double and a Peter Weatherson goal.

These images have shaped my work since 1989...going now into my own Fame of Hall.
LAST CHRISTMAS...
...i get to go 'back' to Cappielow, scene of my best ever picture ("Cry For Home") taken at the bus-stop outside. I stand outside again, waiting for... I don't know what.
Then this...a trail of youngish boys on scooters all scooting past the gates of the match. Police following in a van. (Doesn't amount to much).
I am slightly saddened that the boys might never 'go to the match', anymore. That in decades to come this occasion might not be on offer.

magazine is 300 editions old/young. It began in the year 2000, 11 years after I began 'Homes Of Football'. In their celebratory edition (a best of) they have included this image

Morton made their first Premier Division trip to Love Street and came away with a 0-0 draw, unlucky not to take both points.
Notable for being my first ever Morton away game (aged 6).

A deflected free-kick from Marko Rajamaki and an Alan Mahood header gave Morton a 2-1 win over Airdrie at Cappielow. That decision for their penalty 🤦♂️

After going 2-0 down early doors at home to Peterhead, goals from Paul McGowan, Peter Weatherson, Scott McLaughlin and Kevin Finlayson gave Morton a 4-2 win.

Morton hosted Dunfermline at Cappielow and were 2-0 down within four minutes, and would lose 2-1. The cameras caught the a very Scottish moment, with a pie being thrown onto the park.
Not sure if it was due to the score or the pie.

Another monsoon at Cappielow where Morton drew 0-0 with St. Mirren, with an Andy Ritchie penalty sticking in the mud in the 2nd half.
Results elsewhere meant that our part-time team went top of the Premier Division. 👏

In a monsoon at Cappielow, Morton faced Celtic (who had the chance to go top with Aberdeen's game being off).
Mo Johnston gave the visitors the lead but a Jim Gillespie double gave us a very unexpected 2-1 win.

Morton conceded early but went on to stick 5 goals past Partick Thistle (Oliver, McHugh 2, Iredale & Tidser).
A floodlight shattered after the 5th and there was a frantic collection of bits of glass to ensure the game finished.
