Mr. Collins is running SparkNotes?
you're laughing? I have been so fortunate as to be distinguished by the patronage of Lady Catherine de Bourgh and you're laughing?

It's very easy; AI has stolen vast quantities of human created data like books, art and code, and now you want to use that data to put us all out of a job. Normally this would just be called plagiarism, but because a bunch of people can get rich of it they're trying to justify it
The REAL reason people hate AI: they feel threatened and are scared that they don’t know where they will fit in this new world. Like many of us, they have attached their identity and worth to their skill. There is also cognitive dissonance. To watch something you spent years mastering replicated by a robot in seconds. All to say is the AI debate is simply a struggle of human emotion. I am certain that if these same people truly invested in it, they would find that their creativity would expand.

In 5-10 years, "No AI" or "Zero AI" will be a badge of honor for companies, like "eco-friendly" or "plastic-free" or "no GMO" is today. It’ll be a mark of distinction.

Watching the old TV adaptation of Emma with Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller, by far the best scripted and cast yet strangely less well-known than the dire film versions. Garai radiantly lovely and lively.

mandatory C. S. Lewis quote
Montaigne once said that he hoped death found him planting his cabbages, and there's immense wisdom in that: the only way to live without regret is to do things so intrinsically meaningful that even if rudely interrupted by death you would not think you had wasted your time
