Winter support of our local βPensionersβ in East Ayrshire.
No pensioner should be lonely and freeze this winter as I said on @ScotlandTonight last Monday evening.
In view of the cut announced to the Winter Fuel allowance of Β£1.5billion, I will be opening the doors to HALO Kilmarnock @ HALO Rock Me Cafe with a package of free measures for our local pensioners.
From 1st December 2024- 31 st March 2025 we will provide over 3 days a week Monday- Friday a complimentary meal provision set with a warm friendly environment at our 70 seater HALO#Rockme Cafe.
Should we require to increase access due to demand to 5 days we will.
We will be working with local providers and suppliers to identify those most in need.

Lucyβs design was 1st! Sheβs very excited to make her hat
Today at HALO Urban Regeneration Company we had our annual visit from my Onthank Primary 4 pupils @OnthankSchool .
97 amazing pupils received their HALO Ambassador Medals .
Huge thank you to Leanne of
our local milliner who last year tasked the pupils with designing a hat made entirely out of recycled products, showcasing their innovative thinking and commitment to sustainability.
Leanne announced 1st 2nd & 3rd place.
The winner will have the unique opportunity to bring their creation to life at the Leanne's studio in Kilmarnock.
Congratulations to all participants for their amazing efforts and creativity. We can't wait to see the final hat πππ
The pupils enjoyed a tour of the Trading Floor and were excited to visit the HALO roof to see the 185 solar panels.
Tonight the building will be lit red which is their school colours celebrating their visit and we look forward to seeing them again soon. ππ¨
