Extending sentences. The "kernel" was "It broke." What? My phone broke. Where? My phone broke in my room. Now add a detail. The phone broke in my room because I dropped it. This student made a "big, beautiful, tasty piece of popcorn from a kernel." @pisdesela @YoungPISD

That was a wrap on my @YoungPISD YellowJacket era in second grade. There are so many great memories and successes in Waterford, @DreamBox_Learn, and @Amplify. My class had strong growth this year. They will hold a special place in my heart. The last week was bittersweet.

The bunnies are back. Spring time at the best portable around. I love my classroom and making it a home for my students. My windows are always decorated. Makes me happy. Makes the kids that see it happy. Thank you @DollarTree for the cute selecrion.

Today, my students learned about the plight of marshmallow farmers & had to write 3 ways to fix these crops so they would be sustainable. Alas, it was an APRIL FOOL'S joke. Their real writing was about the ultimate AF prank - who, what, when, where, and how. It was so real.

Proof that an anchor chart does not have to be "pinterest-worthy" for a student to utilize it as a resource when completing independent grammar work. Thank goodness because I drew a cat once, and my class thought it was a horse. Good times. @YoungPISD @pisdesela #teacherlife
