Test cricket at its finest. What a series. Small rant - back in the day you could go to a test post tea for a reduced rate. Yesterday people were being charged R300 at 430pm to enter. Tests during the week and now making it hard for people to come watch. Surely not@TicketProSA

Today we take it home at Newlands but at least we know they have to bat very very very well and we have had not had our kingpin at full strength, KG, he's hungry. Go the Proteas.

End of day 4: Australia need 288 to win series. SA need 10 wickets. Some Australian is going to have to bat forever and a day. Can’t see it happening. SA to win has been my call since the toss. Tomorrow it’s duck or no dinner! 11/10 🇿🇦 15/10 🇦🇺 5/1 draw

The point of the Tadgh decision is simple. Perhaps there was not enough evidence. But there certainly wasnt enough with JHW a year ago and despite that he got 9 weeks "on balance of probabilities". Travesty. How do you explain the gross discrepancies between the two cases?

This has been one of the best Test cricket series the planet earth and universe has ever seen. Thoughts and prayers with anyone who doesn’t enjoy test cricket. Tomorrow is the day, my Champions. ❤️🇿🇦🏆 #SAvAUS

That's a nice scrum you have there, it would be a real shame if the Springboks DESTROYED it. Ridiculous strength & technique! FULL VIDEO: youtu.be/DUuc1Cw_bUg

Whatever happens from here, 2 things are indisputable: 1. Test cricket is the greatest sport on earth. 2. This should have been a 4 or 5 match series and South Africa deserves more (or even any) of them.

Two World No. 1 Rankings. One Marco Jansen! 🤯👑 ICC World No. 1 Test Bowler. ICC World No. 1 Test All-Rounder. Marco Jansen is sitting pretty at the summit of world cricket! 😤 This is what dreams are made of. An extraordinary achievement for a truly special talent, and a moment to savour for South African cricket. 🇿🇦 You simply cannot script this! 🥹 #Unbreakable #SAvAUS

I would just like to put it out there that this is our captain's first ever loss in Tests, so there is no need to overreact - We often start series poorly - No there shouldn't be wholesale changes with multiple shifts in positions I expect us to come back stronger That is all

At 126/6 against what people said was an average Aussie side to lose by over 200 runs is piss poor & guys should be ashamed. Could've bowled wide outside off for 200 balls at Renshaw just to dry up the runs. Not even scoring 300. Bring in Ackerman, verreyne must go #proteas

Say what you want about Test cricket but nothing comes close to this One team striving for the win One team desperately fighting to save the match This is what makes Test cricket beautiful

Ever heard of “red water”? It is an illegally prepared industrial mix typically containing: - Liquid Mercury (Hg) - Industrial Nitric or Hydrochloric Acid - High concentrations of iron oxides, lead and arsenic The liquid gets its name and distinct deep pink, reddish-brown, or rusty orange color from the dense concentration of iron oxides (Fe₂O₃) dissolved from rock sediment during an acid reaction. It is significantly denser and heavier than normal water due to the suspended liquid mercury and dissolved metal ions. When sitting still, beads of silver liquid mercury can sometimes be seen pooled at the very bottom of the translucent red fluid. The primary end-users are Zama Zamas - illegal artisanal miners operating in South Africa. It dramatically accelerates and simplifies the gold extraction process without requiring complex industrial machinery. Real gold frequently occurs as microscopic particles locked inside rocks. The chemical potency of "red water" aggressively eats away the unwanted ore, ensuring that the miners can extract the maximum yield of gold from low-grade materials in makeshift, outdoor processing camps. Zama Zamas grind down gold-bearing rocks into a fine sand or slurry. They pour the "red water" directly into containers (often using half-cut oil drums or plastic basins) holding the crushed ore. The miners stir the chemical bath bare-handed or with sticks. The mercury in the liquid draws the gold out, binding with it to form a silver-coloured paste or button known as an amalgam. The miners then extract the metallic amalgam clump and heat it using a blowtorch or open fire. The mercury evaporates into toxic clouds of gas, leaving behind a nugget of raw, impure gold. Because raw mercury is heavily regulated under the global Minamata Convention on Mercury, the illegal miners cannot purchase it legally. "Red water" is manufactured by organised transnational criminal supply syndicates. They smuggle raw mercury and industrial acids through illicit channels, pre-mix the hazardous blend into stable transportable forms, and distribute it down the supply chain in standard 25-litre plastic drums. There is no legitimate, legal version of "red water" used for the same purpose. In modern gold mining, the chemical solution does not exist as a commercial product because the use of bulk mercury for gold extraction is highly restricted and outlawed in commercial setups. Gold mining corporations do not use mercury or acid baths to manually burn off ore. Instead, they use a highly regulated process called cyanidation (extracting gold using a diluted sodium cyanide solution). Because "red water" is such a highly secretive, illegal chemical cocktail distributed and used exclusively by criminal syndicates, there are no public, verified photographs of this specific liquid mixture inside its transport drums.

What Nathan Lyon had to say about the Kingsmead crowd last night was spot-on: "We expected more of a crowd. It's the Australian team against South Africa in South Africa, it's No.1 and No.2 going at each other. But it's all been very quiet." It's about respecting the rivalry!

A number of people have recently asked me about the late Jeffrey Archer. He was, by a mile, the rudest and most obnoxious person I have ever met. Ever! And I have met a few! Having been given formal permission for my wife and late father in law to attend the interview at his luxurious penthouse, I was shocked at the tantrum he threw about their presence. He went on and on about it! I cancelled the interview immediately, commiserated with his staff, told him what I thought of his behaviour and we left. In shock! In hindsight, and being as charitable as I can, perhaps he had just heard the news that he would do jail time for perjury. The news only officially broke months later. On the same day we had interviewed legendary rugby commentator Bill McLaren. After an incredibly generous and insightful interview for which he insisted on coming to our hotel, he told us his daughter had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer! Not for a minute did he consider breaking his agreement to chat on air. The best and the worst on the same day. RIP to them both.
