Today we are doing a jigsaw to learn about microbes. We’re using @googlejamboard to collaborate and share our graphic organizers so everyone has access after our lessons. @CMMSCougars @TomEMullaney #WeAreCarroll #4Cs #collaboration

Kicking off one of my favorite units with one of my favorite labs. Demonstrating how quickly disease can spread through contact. One student had “infected” water at the beginning. How many will be infected at the end? @CMMSCougars #WeAreCarroll #TeamKidsFirst

The kids in our after school program continue to amaze me. I am so proud of every single one of them every single day and so beyond grateful to have @CreateSomeDrama as a part of my life. This program is worth the 13 hour days.
A quick photo right before this AMAZING student went onstage to perform her role of "The Creepy Lady" who has been lost in the woods for 200+ days & just wants to find the trail... Thrilled to announce - she received an Excellence in Acting award for her portrayal! #TeamKidsFirst

This group learned that wrapping the whole outside of their filter with cheese cloth did not have the results they were looking for. Good lesson on properties of water, porosity, and permeability. @CMMSCougars #WeAreCarroll #TeamKidsFirst #GlobalWaterCrisis

When the science projects have unexpected results. Two groups have beans growing and two others started growing fungus 😮 we had to throw the fungus river basins away, but we are letting our bean farms grow! @CMMSCougars

FANTASTIC Saturday theatre workshop for our upcoming production of LesMis! Volunteer parents helped us make a giant leap in our balcony construction, and we are polishing our preview song for our Weds & Thurs nite performances. SO proud of these awesome kiddos! ❤️🎭

So excited that this turned out the way that I envisioned! As are taking birds-eye-view photos of their river basin then creating a topography map to show the elevation and river flow. Feeling all the teacher feels today! @CMMSCougars #WeAreCarroll #TeamKidsFirst

I am SO excited about this project! Ss are building watersheds with a matching topographic map, observing how pollution travels through their water system, creating a working aquifer, then designing a water filter to treat polluted water. @CMMSCougars #PBL #RealWorldLearning

Did you know that <0.5% of ALL the water on Earth is accessible and can be used by humans? Today we proportionally divided 1,000mL of water to show its distribution on Earth. We linked this to the importance of caring for our Earth. @CMMSCougars #TeamKidsFirst #WeAreCarroll

Learning about how different abiotic factors have created such a large amount of biodiversity in estuaries today. Each group is responsible for a different aspect of estuarine ecosystems and will teach their peers tomorrow. #WeAreCarroll @CMMSCougars @NOAA_NC
