Database design used to take me hours, until I discovered this workflow that saves time AND delivers scalable results.
Here’s how I do it:
1. Input the PRD into ChatGPT (I use GPT-o1, but GPT-4o works just as well).
2. Ask it to create a detailed, scalable database design:
• Define tables.
• Outline their purposes.
• Specify relationships.
Once I’m satisfied, I save the output to db-design.md file and store it in Cursor for easy reference throughout development.
This workflow is a game changer. Quick, efficient, and incredibly effective.

Now that ORAdiff (oradiff.oracle.com/) has implemented REST API, did you know you can get the list of all parameters, default users, bug fixes, etc. for any given release with a simple curl command? You don't even need to have a DB installed.

#orclAPEX package APEX_ZIP is truly powerful, but I found myself needing additional functionalities, such as a pipelined function to return multiple files which I can use directly in a SELECT statement, and file filtering to retrieve only specific files.
Therefore I created an extension package, APEX_ZIP_UTILS! With conditional compiling it is adapted to all versions of APEX (pre and post 21.2, which implemented new functions to extract files).
