Steve Sarkisian on Arch Manning, his current attitude, and the media machine:
“Somebody texted me today that we lost the 'aw shucks' kid, you know, and we've created something else. I don't know if we lost him, we created this, ya know?”
“We did. All of us. Y'all included, me included, the whole thing, right? Everybody on ESPN, we've created this, and so we'll see what comes out of it.
“He’s edgy right now. And I appreciate that about him. At some point he's gotta fight back. The best way to fight back is playing good football with his teammates and enjoying playing good football with his teammates. And so I'm looking forward to watching him compete Saturday."
Steve Sarkisian says Arch Manning will be evaluated within Saturday’s game vs. Ole Miss like any other player. Removing Manning isn’t limited to a blowout situation.
“Just depends. Every game is different, ya know? I think Arch has had a good week of work, he’s prepared himself well, but like the team, he needs to play well. And we’ll go from there.”
Colin Simmons is listed as DOUBTFUL for Saturday's game vs. Ole Miss on Texas' first injury report of the week.

The 2026-27 NBA season starts, well, right now. Texas head coach Sean Miller touted the Longhorns’ expansive NBA reach on Monday, reveling in the 19 active NBA players who are either Texas alums or former Miller pupils.

That was quite the confident and defiant Arch Manning at the podium today, btw.
If Texas runs the table and reaches the Playoff, this presser will be one to remember.
I asked Steve Sarkisian how much autonomy he likes to give Arch Manning at the line of scrimmage.
Sarkisian: “We're not a huge just put it all on the quarterback to audible [team].”
“We do change protections, and I think [Manning] manages those things well. When we have run-run checks and things of that nature, run-pass checks. I think those things are pretty defined. He does a good job with that.”
