At the end of last year I asked my MS students what they wanted more of - this list came from them!
(We get to order books once a year through the district but have no direct access to $ for any supplies, materials, or books throughout the year.)

Had an incredible visit to DC for #ALAAC22 -- time spent with friends, great food, many laughs, lots of learning and walks around town. Memorable + informative experiences beyond the conference itself. Gonna share some highlights below for anyone who may benefit. 🧵

Librarian squad, who will be at #ALAAC22? I’d love to connect you with my brilliant colleague @MissCarrieHill who is attending for the first time! #libcollabpr

The traditional school book fair model = inequitable, sorting students based on family finances. *No school library should be turned into a for-profit satellite shop for publishers.* Libraries are for everyone, all the time. Today starts our #TrueBookFAIR! @WCPSSEquity

Middle school students enjoyed their most recent student-run book club meeting on May 11th. They discussed White Bird (A Wonder Story) by R.J. Palacio. Our relentless readers can't wait for their last book club event of the school year next month! #dragonsread

This picture says so much about my front-and-center son (at least some of it is positive). But all of it is positive about this school and its library (and amazing librarians!).
