This is Justice Peter Lifu. He ordered ADC's deregistration despite a Court of Appeal order to stay proceedings. The Appeal Court reversed him, calling it "judicial impertinence" and "judicial rascality" — conduct that makes a judge "unfit for the bench." A judge who defies a superior court to truncate opposition parties is a danger to Nigeria's democracy. The NJC must act.

The Court of Appeal once held that Peter Lifu is not fit to be on the bench. He proved them right today. Judicial rigging too will be addressed. #RigandDie2027

There is a superior decadence that enables the decadence of Peter Lifu. It is called John Tsoho. He is the Chief Judge of the @FederalHigh. He knows what he is doing. These men are now so compromised, they know that they will stand no chance under a different dispensation. So, they no longer need to be bribed. Their corrupt judgments have become desperate acts of personal & political survival. They are no longer judges. They are now members of an organised political crime gang.
Lifu strikes again. We are dealing with the most decadent hegemony - The Tinubu Hegemony - our country has known. Confronting the hegemony through the ballot is useless

Do not Undermine Democracy I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising. I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns. One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates. The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests. This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

It is a disgrace that Peter Lifu continues to parade himself as a judge in #Nigeria when he lives & works in the pocket of a known politician. It is equally a disgrace that his cell mate inside that pocket is John Tsoho. There is no bleach for the blot they inflict on the Nigerian judiciary. dailytrust.com/breaking-cour…

The court cases against political parties, at this point the @ADCNig, are part of Tinubu's strategic plans to confuse and dissuade Nigerians seeking to run against him. For some, his strategy is to use the courts, where his henchman, Nyesom Wike, pulls the strings. Against those he cannot stop in court, he will deploy violence in some cases, using both methods. Only revolutionary resistance can confront these wicked strategies. Unfortunately, Tinubu @officialabat does not believe in democracy. He (TINUBU) is a crooked political operative, but none of these desperate tactics can save him. Instead, they will eventually become the catalysts for the revolution that Tinubu himself will provoke, whether he likes it or not. #RevolutionNow

We have just been attacked by APC thugs in Kebbi State on our way into town from the airport. The APC had stationed thugs along the route, chanting “Kaura falle biyu ne,” meaning “Kaura will serve two terms.” We rolled up our windows and refused to engage with them, but they proceeded to strike our buses with sticks. Why should opposition parties be afraid to campaign freely simply because the incumbent governor belongs to the ruling party? This is an assault on our democracy, and we will resist it with every fibre of our being. @ADCNig @ADCVanguard_

The ADC calls on the judiciary not to allow itself to be used in foisting a dictatorship on Nigeria. “This is not just about the ADC or Atiku Abubakar; it is an ill wind that blows nobody any good.” The party urged its members across the country to remain calm and law abiding while the party pursuers all legal means to address the situation. SIGNED: Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi National Publicity Secretary African Democratic Congress (ADC)

They denied us access to all public gathering facilities. They blocked access to all hotel rooms in the state. They orchestrated a counter gathering to intimidate us from turning up. They jammed the network. Yet, Sokoto is delivered. Alhamdulillah. #TMG

Last night was a referendum on the Iran war. The American people have emphatically rejected it, and the results at the polls confirmed what we’ve been warning about for months. President Trump needs to understand that he still has the option to course correct on Iran. End the war now. Walk away, and commit the rest of his term to improving the lives of the American people. Trump still has the power to do the right thing. He can still avert the disaster of a catastrophic escalation. He needs to focus on taking care of his fellow Americans if he has any hope in salvaging his legacy. End the war. Put the American people first.
