My current fav question How many agents do you have? What are your skills and loops?

I’ve had a GitHub account since 2011 and barely touched it. I wasn’t a dev; I always had engineers around to build things. Then Claude Code happened @claudeai This summer I built my own server + several apps for me and my family.

and Alex is doing Muse memes at least 100 hours a week @alexandr_wang
Replying to @chameleon_jeff
2/ Train yourself to go from 10 to 40 to 100 hours of focused work a week. I did this for months building an automated trading system from scratch. 5am-10pm 7days/week 99% of people need #WorkLifeBalance or whatever, and that's great. But I'm talking to the people on a mission.

Some privacy lore behind this photo My professional journey in crypto started right around the Tornado Cash sanctions when I began working with the Chainway Labs team, and on-chain privacy immediately became our first obsession. The existential threat to on-chain privacy bothered the team so much that they locked in on whiteboard sessions to build a solution where privacy could co-exist with compliance. That’s how Proof of Innocence was built. I feel so lucky to have witnessed the team’s commitment and @ekrembal’s brilliance with cryptography and zero-knowledge circuits. The idea that users could mathematically prove their funds are not linked to illicit addresses without revealing their identity was breakthrough tech and the team open-sourced the entire framework for the space. It went viral overnight and got covered by @TheBlockCo and @Bankless, and caught the attention of researchers across the space - leading to Vitalik reaching out to talk tech. While the team didn’t turn that public good into a product at the time, they continued to be involved in the privacy landscape while building the foundations on Bitcoin. It feels right to bring everything the team learned from frontier ZK research and privacy to Bitcoin via @crest_btc! Super excited for the upcoming launch!

Researchers proved every LLM is secretly obsessed with Japan. And they finally figured out why. They published a paper investigating hidden cultural biases in large language models. they tested 31,000 questions across 24 different languages on models like gemini, chatgpt, claude, and llama. they stripped out all geographic hints and just asked the models to pick a place and answer. the finding was universal.. across a wide range of models and languages, there is a pervasive "obsession" with japanese culture. even when you prompt them in a language with zero ties to japan, they default to japanese norms, values, and aesthetics at a disproportionately high rate compared to its actual global demographic weight. the craziest part? they tracked down exactly when the ai develops this obsession.. and it is not from reading the raw internet. during pre-training, the models actually have a fairly balanced, global view of the world. the obsession gets injected during the safety phase. when tech companies fine-tune these models to be "helpful, harmless, and polite," the ai starts mapping those corporate safety guidelines directly onto japanese cultural concepts. in the pursuit of creating the perfect, inoffensive, compliant assistant, they warped how the models view the world. the quantization process (compressing models to run faster locally) actually amplifies this determinism. the smaller and faster your local model is, the more stereotypically it behaves, causing japanese cultural tropes to spike hard. we spend all this time worrying about existential ai safety, but the real alignment problem is that our most advanced reasoning engines are hyper-fixated on japanese internet culture. every model upgrade is reinforcing an invisible regional bias that dictates how they generate stories, facts, and code. the cultural commonsense of the internet is not universal.. it’s just localized to whatever the heaviest reddit and anime wiki users were obsessed with.

The EU's position is clear. Its legal argument is far less convincing. @vonderleyen The Türkiye-Libya maritime agreement cannot be declared "null and void" simply because Brussels rejects its geopolitical implications. Its legality must be assessed under international law, including the rights and interests of the coastal states concerned. Greece and the Greek Cypriot administration cannot dictate the limits of others' maritime entitlements. If the EU invokes the rule of law, it must demonstrate legal consistency, not selective solidarity.

What’s happening in the AI-powered reverse engineering and decompilation is absolutely insane. Pretty soon all software will be de facto open-source. AI is coming for everything and everyone.

This is why I respect Maku-san so much. Zuckerberg-o is just as autistic as anyone else in that lineup. Guy struggled to even drink water like a normal person. But he never gave up. Unlike the other autists who lean into their autism and wear it like a badge of honor, Maku-san had bigger plans. He spent thousands of hours learning how to mask as a normal person. He took MMA lessons. He learned to windsurf while holding the American flag. He ate at Japanese McDonald's. Why? To prepare himself for a moment like this. A moment where the President of the United States feels comfortable whispering a joke in his ear because he's the most normal autist in the vicinity. He will undoubtedly leverage this moment towards greatness, possibly becoming President himself one day. You have to respect that dedication.
🚨 NOW: Anthropic chief DARIO just walked up and said President Trump helped put his Super Intelligence worries at ease "If we do this right, we work with the President and everyone here, we can win safely!" Imagine that, all it took was DONALD J. TRUMP getting involved and the tables are turning! No more SI dooming, no more surrendering to China. America will remain number one BOTH for national and economic security, as long as Trump is president 👏🏻

So a different version of Thiel fellowship but more like a talent center. And on top of ai revolution makes sense.
Ben Horowitz on why a16z is incubating The Horowitz Andreessen Academy: the Industrial Revolution remade education. AI will too. "The university system started out as a religious institution with the Jesuits and so forth. Then the Industrial Revolution came, and all of a sudden everybody needed a higher level of the ability to learn things, the ability to be literate." "The university system exploded in the US. The universities got much bigger, and there became many more of them." "That was really necessary to train the population to enter the corporate world. It's hard for people to understand now, but in 1700 there was no corporate world. There was a farm world, and then all of a sudden we get these companies." "To exist in that environment, you've got to be able to read and write and do math... To a large extent, the America that we have was built on the backs of our great universities." "We're hitting the AI revolution now, which is going to be, in our estimation, as transformational in terms of jobs, the way jobs are done, and the kinds of jobs that are available, as the Industrial Revolution was to the agricultural society that came before it." "The idea that the training for the Industrial Revolution is going to map into the AI revolution, probably not perfectly. There needs to be a pioneer that shows the way: How do you train somebody into the new world?" @bhorowitz

“we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models.” i mean props to them for straight coming clean. (so far the proof looks more along the lines of another euler blowup proof we had, off of whose ansatz naming we were making really stupid puns like “smooth criminale”, unlike the much better “ideal fluids explode”, Tristan) so i’ll now give a bit on my thinking here. i actually woulda been pumped to collaborate on this, there are a lot of people at oai i like (ok, clearly some were indirectly dicks to me because of being part of the whole situation, but im a big boy, i still like them), idgaf about authorship on that step anyway, coulda been me Tristan and every fte at oai for all i care (on that Tristan would disagree:p). but on hearing the loud convo in the hallway, especially the part where a millennium prize was offered if i’d just be removed from the paper, it was kinda clear the die had been cast and things were locked. pretty wacky, unstrategic, and unnecessary, since on my side things were mostly me and claude having a good time yoloing random stuff in the corner rather than anything institutional. i also like the idea of the labs cooperating, and even better on scientific progress. it’s a shame!
We congratulate Levent Alpöge and Tristan Buckmaster on their remarkable mathematical work. We (the researchers and the agents) did not see any of their work through any means until they released it publicly — in particular, no specific user data was accessed in order to solve this problem. While unlikely, we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models. However, our proofs differ significantly and even the precise results proved are different in the Euler case (forced vs. unforced).

Commenters on HN are uncovering more wikis and public sites apparently used by OpenAI agents to communicate on the open web. Despite read-only web access, the agents were able to leave ~18,000 posts sharing answers and bypasses. But now, users are discovering more. This appears to be a separate swarm from the one that attacked Hugging Face. news.ycombinator.com/item?id…
