Alot of talk about the card surcharge. Why don't businesses just start offering alternatives. Cut out the middle man. Unsure if Bitcoin is available via stripe yet in Aus/NZ but that would be a good start.
Ahhh indeed... The RBA's wish for unemployment to hit 5% to "tame inflation" will be a wish granted soon as many SME's keep closing down... BUT - like the war - don't mention government spending... just putting it out there 🥸

Nature is healing when movies don't use remixed 80s and 90s hit songs on every single movie trailer. Ita so akin to AI Slop

What the actual fuck. @adam3us you should have just walked off stage. Surrounded by mental illness.
Dissecting Bitcoin puritanism and making Bitcoin ternary one dress at a time. Which inclusivity has you been lacking in Bitcoin, @TheBlueMatt?

It's what we already knew. But it's good to see some data.
Lots of people discuss immigration & crime in Europe, so I compiled what I think is ALL the data on the topic, which is hard because many countries hide it. Do they commit more crime? Is it because of age? Sex? Education? Poverty? Culture? 1. Sexual offenses & violent crime:

Whats the bet its new owners rehire from the "new" pool of workers, ya know, the cheaper ones...
I’m in Whyalla tonight talking to workers following an important announcement about the future of the Whyalla Steelworks. The administrator, KordaMentha, has announced that efforts to restart the Whyalla Steelworks blast furnace over recent months have been unsuccessful. It has always been a question of when, not if this particular blast furnace would close. The equipment is more than 60 years old and has not had the investment it deserves through recent decades. In fact, it is only due to the Herculean efforts of the workers in Whyalla that it has survived this long. Today’s announcement does not mean the end of the line for Whyalla. Mining, port and other operations will continue, and the sale process for the steelworks is continuing. Whyalla’s future has never rested on this blast furnace. The Steelworks needs the right new owner, willing and able to deliver new capital investment to set up Australian steelmaking for the long term. And that’s exactly what we and the Federal Government are committed to delivering through our $1.9 billion sovereign steelmaking package. There are currently about 1700 people employed at the Steelworks and after the blast furnace closure, there will be about 1200. For workers affected by the closure, we stand ready to help. The State and Federal Governments are also delivering a $10 million package to provide practical assistance with new employment opportunities, training and reskilling, career advice, financial information and wellbeing support. A Transition Centre is now open at the Whyalla TAFE campus to deliver these supports. Our economy is growing quickly with high demand for skilled labour. Already companies like BHP, Hallett and Peak Iron have expressed their interest in recruiting. Our intervention will also ensure affected workers receive their entitlements in full. We always knew the transition from an ageing blast furnace to the next generation of steelmaking would involve difficult decisions. But our objective has not changed - for Australia to make steel in Whyalla. I look forward to announcing the new owner and their plans later this year.

Revolut is a shithole. Do not use. My experience was worse than with traditional banking, and that was as a platinum card holder.

I always thought that when the economy improved, people would come back to NZ - But looking back now i realise people will come home, because NZ is least broken out of the lot of them.

The writing was on the wall, the facts were clear. They were ignored. To the people trying to muddy the waters and creep back into good standing - eat a fat one. The north remembers.

It's been a rough week. Magical internet money got much more nerdy this week. Lowercase bitcoin unaffected, but adoption/usage/self custody must be having a hard time. As I type this, I think that maybe a whole bunch of people are saying, "what you mean I can self custody"...

An upside of the Coldcard issue is the advancement of storage. This will be a prerequisite going forward. Ultimately storage will become more robust. Similar to Bitcoin itself, these issues arise, albeit sadly, and the ecosystem evolves.

Pour one out for start9 I give them 24 months max then they'll be bagging fries.
Wow, the comments... People really think Bitcoin is a Democracy and your opinion matters, especially when you scream it on social media. If you don't like something, stop being whining children, and just stop it. Isn't everyone sick of this? What a waste of time/attention.

The half time show is more entertaining than the actual game. Football needs an overhaul, or at least a side format, Like cricket did with T20.
