Many Tory proponents of Brexit claimed it would restore Britain to a mythologised past free trading glory, but in reality it has left us isolated on the world stage and suppressed trade with our largest export market.
@nowak_paul is right: entering a bilateral customs union is the first step towards repairing our economy.
This is especially the case for our exporting goods industies. Modern, high productivity sectors require intense specialisation and cross-border integration to succeed.

Delay and review generate fees. While people in West Yorkshire lose another decade: punishing commutes, fewer opportunities.
The process class bills. The people pay the price.

With Labour, the UK is rejoining the Erasmus Scheme. This will mean every young person has the chance to study or train abroad, no matter their background.
The Tories made a huge mistake pulling us out of it. I’m glad our Labour government has put it right.
