Seeing a buck cross the trail in front of us at an urban park is pretty incredible when you consider my dad grew up in a Midwest where deer were functionally extinct.
There is something really gentle and comforting about the light plodding of salamander feet on your hands.
I generally stray away from political commentary but it’s striking to see someone holding up such an ironic sign with no awareness of the irony. Processing legally cast votes is not “stealing” or fraud but trying to stop that vote counting when you’re ahead sure is...
Tried to get some marbled salamander footage for an upcoming video and lucked into this beautiful mud salamander sharing a log with 7 marbled salamanders on their eggs! The best encounters in nature are the ones you least expect!
Check out this video I put together with @Procyon_John and @rana_lubricante about Timber rattlesnake mothers!

Check out this video I made with @Procyon_John and @rana_lubricante about timber rattlesnakes! It stars @sky_lepidus and @blaine_hiner favorite snake!
We are working on manuscripts that will hopefully contribute to the growing body of knowledge on Timber Rattlesnakes from our research! But outreach is also important so here is the first in a series of educational videos we are creating! @OSUEnvironment

Ever found a big, brown spider in your woods or in your house? I made a video all about the dark fishing spider, which is one of the most common “giant” spiders in Eastern North America. *spoiler alert: they’re harmless! #spider #scicomm #fishingspider

I made a video about Green June Beetles, the native green beetle you may spot around your garden/yard. If you are worried they are eating your plants, watch this before you break out the pesticide!

Indigo snakes are the longest snakes native to the US. Their scientific name means ‘Lord of the Forest’ and they are top predators, eating anything they can get in their mouths. That includes rattlesnakes and other venomous species. #WorldSnakeDay
Despite their reputation, snakes are defensive but not aggressive toward people. Today is #WorldSnakeDay and it seems an appropriate time to spread this message so please share this video and the hashtag #noaggressivesnake!

The yellow sac spider is a common house-dweller with a bad reputation. In this video, I break down the truth about this harmless and beneficial critter! If you find it informative, share it with others and maybe we can save some #Spider lives! #SciComm
Happy #worldturtleday! This little critter is hope for the next generation. In the background you can hear the next human generation enjoying nature. The former sure depends on the latter so do everything you can to… instagram.com/p/CAjB4Rih0vK/…
