It's the end of 2021, and stock Atari hardware from 1990 (32 years ago!) is running the latest release of NetBSD, 9.2!

TT030 on eBay, looks perfect for running netbsd! ebay.com/itm/234717052364
Hoping to get back to messing around with netbsd on the TT030 soonish. Things kind of stalled out after I got frustrated with the >16MB issue and then got distracted with various life stuff.
I'm not sure if it was a tweak to @tsutsuii's original commits or what, but there were new commits on PR/41002 (ST_POOL_SIZE issue) and PR/46647 (box drawing chars issue) today.

32MB TT RAM. Tempting, but I already have two.

On June 27th 1972, Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney incorporated Atari Inc in Sunnyvale, California. The rest is history.
Happy 50th birthday, Atari!
I think @tsutsuii's changes will show up in nycdn.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-… in the next day or so. I'll try them out hopefully soon.
.@tsutsuii just fixed gnats.netbsd.org/41002 as well, enabling the X server to work without manually tweaking ST_POOL_SIZE.
Haven't been able to get back to the Atari in the past few months due to life stuff. Probably same for the next month or so, but looking forward to circling back to it after that.

I filed a NetBSD problem report on the >16MB RAM issue: gnats.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/que…
This is unfortunately a pretty big blocker given that >16MB TT RAM seems to be a necessity for NetBSD/atari 9.2 and going forward.
Frozen downloading modules.tgz on the "new" TT, netbsd 8.2. Entirely different TT, entirely different TT RAM board. This means the problem is _not_ the Storm TT hardware (or any other hardware for that matter, because I've swapped it all out).
So the problem _must_ be some kind of general issue with the ATARITT kernel when TT RAM >16MB. @tsutsuii I challenge you to boot the ATARITT kernel / sysinst and install sets via HTTP. I believe it cannot be done without a crash on your 32MB TT RAM machine. 😀
