Never naman yang naging status symbol. Except sa mga affluent na talaga, ang aasim ng mga nag aaral sa UP. Hahaha Sana gawing mandatory na subject ang personal hygiene sa kanila. Sayang taxes kung naghahasik lang sila ng kaasiman while feeling superior sa nagpapaaral sa kanila.

history shows na yang mga parody ng UP students are almost, if not always, hindi naman taga-UP. And that makes sense kasi UP students know and respect the Sablay — di nyo kasi gets how hard it is to earn the privilege of wearing it kaya ganun nyo na lang kadali gawing pangcostume

Nakakaawa naman kung naka-graduate tayo sa UP tapos ganito pa rin ang pag-iisip natin. Some may have failed to enter UP, but if this elitist thinking lingers with us Iskos, perhaps our UP education failed us.

I get the pride with the Sablay. We earned that clothing. Pero there’s so much more outside uni that needs our attention than policing who gets to wear it and where it should be worn.
