I think #phaware-ness at local hospitals is a good start. I love #TheRightHeart Campaign! We just need to get it to the nurses. PH patient groups reaching out to the local offices that see PH and invite the staff to attend one of the support group meetings. #PHawarenesschat

We need to have more PH CEU classes offered to the nursing world! Pharmaceutical companies with approved PAH medications should advertise in nursing journals. Most of the nurses outside PH centers have no idea what medications are used to treat PAH. #PHawarenesschat

First of all they need to teach the difference in the WHO Group classifications of PH at some point in nursing school. Just even a slight mention! Very few new nurses know the difference between right heart and left heart disease. #PHawarenesschat

Also, having knowledge about your PAH can help you make medical decisions with your health care team. #PHawarenesschat

Knowledge is power. The more you know the better! Knowing the difference between side effects of medication & PH symptoms is extremely important in helping your health care team follow you. #PHawarenesschat
