And we invite such frauds to give talks.
I've been pointing out since the early 2010s that Thomas Piketty, Emmanuel Saez, and Gabriel Zucman have a bad habit of biasing their data construction to fit their politics. Whenever they make a suspect call in how to handle stats, it ends up showing that inequality is on the rise. They almost never go in the other direction. The errors are non-random and almost invariably reinforce their political claims about rising income and wealth concentration since 1980. Piketty did this throughout his book Capital in the 21st Century. Piketty and Saez did this throughout their famous 2003 paper on inequality in the US. Piketty, Saez, and Zucman Saez and Zucman did this in their Distributional National Accounts paper that Auten and Splinter dissected. Saez and Zucman did this in their 2019 book on tax incidence and inequality. Saez and Zucman did this in their flurry of "studies" and white papers to support Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax proposal, California Prop 40, a new wealth tax in France, and dozens of other similar examples. A new AI report (linked below) audited 138 papers by Saez and Zucman. It found thousands of errors, 194 of which were serious. A whopping 97% of the serious errors went in the same direction: they showed inequality rising faster or made it higher. But there's a bigger scandal at play here. Despite these clear biases, Piketty, Saez, and Zucman have enjoyed a stream of praise and prestige within the economics profession. They get expedited and friendly reviews in top econ journals even though a more serious peer review should have caught many of these errors (the Quarterly Journal of Economics is a recurring offender in this regard). Journals regularly give them a pass after the errors in their old work come to light - they're never expected to correct any of it, and just keep on using it as if nothing changed. Their non-peer reviewed data claims are also treated as gospel by major media outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post. And they get showered with prizes - Saez and Zucman are both Clark Medal winners from the AEA, and Zucman got his prize in 2023 after evidence of major data shenanigans in his work came to light in 2019. Until now, those of us who have been trying to correct the record have had to wade through the PSZ trio's cluttered, disorganized, and often non-transparent replication packages (almost all of which are convoluted piles of Excel spreadsheets) to find the problems. I did a line-by-line replication of Piketty and Saez's entire 2003 US income inequality series to use one example, and found it was riddled with errors - almost every single one of which biased their results in favor of their political story. We had the means to catch this stuff as it was happening, but the economics profession failed to do its job. And it failed precisely because its elite ranks wanted to believe the Piketty-Saez-Zucman story for political reasons.

Bizarre incident. Citizens cleaned Ane Park near Bengaluru on their own by crowd funding. When they came next day they saw poster of BJP MLA Ashwath Narayana taking credit for it. This made them furious and they are calling this out.

The pots calling the kettles black, and vice versa — that is the state of the judiciary, the executive and the Fourth Estate in India today. Both the food and the tea are burnt! Looks like both the pots and the kettles are made of tin or low-grade aluminium.

Although I would definitely say @gautam_adani is a criminal as portrayed in the documentary & his defamation case is BOGUS & the stupid courtier blocking the docu is also stupid.. "Distributing" is the same is production of a product in responsibility.. xitter.gq/sabeer/status/21154134…
Let me be absolutely clear: I neither produced nor directed the documentary. My role was solely to distribute it. There is a fundamental difference between creating content and exercising the right to share it.

Shameless Medico justifying huge cuts given to Doctors for ordering MRIs, lab tests, X-rays etc Go ahead take the money, but don't justify it "'Show me the incentive and I’ll show you the outcome" Outcome is patient paying double & also some doctors ordering unrequired tests
Replying to @neorevolt
Lawyers take for referral, infact every profession does it.not justifying doctors doing it but I see no harm if patient is being provided proper care. The cut does not increase patients price but reduces final doctors profit .debatable

In Med School, 1st Sem Exams has a mandatory question - "Give 102 reasons why a vaccine didn't work without tainting the vaccine's reputation" Anyone who doesn't answer this creatively isn't allowed to become a doctor. "Full moon night" is also one of the valid reasons
A 21-year-old woman died of RABIES. She had taken all 5 anti-rabies vaccine and rabies immunoglobulin after the dog bite. Still died. Here are the real reasons why this happened. 1. Stitching the bite wound

Modiji has been the most Nehruvian of all Prime Ministers since 1990 By 2047, all of 1991 Liberalization reforms done by PVNR-MMS would have been reversed & we would have gone back to the glorious Nehruvian Era - that is the true Amrit Kaal

Andh Bhakt clowns get all their knowledge from WhatsApp US has around 30 refineries which can refine Venezuelan Sour Crude - capacity 10 million barrels a day - 10x of Venezuelan output Even Jamnagar Refinery was built by 2 US companies (Bechel & UOP) with a UK/Swiss Company
THE 14 DAYS THAT WILL REWRITE GEOPOLITICAL HISTORY. The story begins in Venezuela. America had oil. But it needed a refinery. Cheap. Reliable. Strategically located. Every road seemed to lead to India. But Washington had a problem. If India refined that oil, New Delhi could gain enormous leverage over American exports. So they unleashed another plan. And activated its Chinese counterparts. Change the regime. Change the equation. Control the regime. Control the refinery. Then came the political storm. CJP was planted. Congress, AAP and the Left found common ground. Protests erupted. Social media became a battlefield. Allegations of algorithmic manipulation followed. But the people of India refused to deliver the desired political earthquake. Modi remained the formidable obstacle. Then, suddenly, the plot twisted. Washington returned to the negotiating table. Tariff relief entered the picture. Russian oil returned to the conversation. Marco Rubio came to Mumbai. And the protest noise appeared to fade. The country once pressured becomes the country holding the leverage. America came looking for a refinery. Bharat walked away holding the leverage. And this chapter has a name. “When the Hunter Became the Hunted.” But don't celebrate just yet. The next chapter will be far more brutal. America doesn't swallow geopolitical defeats easily. And wounded Superpowers rarely retreat quietly. Expect new pressure. New provocations. New battles fought in the shadows. Because Washington may not be done poking the Elephant. And the elephant hasn't even begun to move. The score now? 1-1. The next match has already begun.

Honestly, this whole Baseball vs Cricket debate about which sport is harder is hilarious viewing. Watching two countries mark their territory and fight for a sport they know, against a sport they know nothing about… priceless. BUT, if you’re curious about my thoughts, here they are. What sport is harder? Neither. And both. 🧵
