Unbeknownst to all but a few #Bristol residents at the time, during WWII the then disused Clifton Rocks Railway was transformed into a radio broadcasting studio by the BBC, so that it could carry on transmitting unhindered during the blitz. It was also used as an air raid shelter

#BreakingNews...Russian strategic bombers intercepted approaching UK airspace today by the @RoyalAirForce were disguised as normal tourist flights. In this new twist the aircraft almost went unnoticed. Thankfully bad weather including snow curtailed the flights.😉 #Russia #Avgeek
