Democrats could end up with such a large House majority that the handful of socialists in their ranks will have no leverage over Jeffries or the House. The DSA crowd doesn't seem too happy about that, as you'd expect.

BEAN IS BACK! @Melissabeanil08 is returning to Congress! Illinois voters know what effective, commonsense leadership looks like, and they're sending a New Dem leader back to Washington.

I was with Ann Richards on election night in 1994 when she conceded to Gov. Bush (t was one of those big brick looking cell phones). I was next to her when the lights went out for Democrats in Texas. For 32 years I have been waiting, praying, grieving loss after loss. Cycle after cycle. Election after election. And tonight, we elected James Talarico to the United States Senate and Gina Hinojosa Governor of Texas. Ann is the reason I’m in politics at all. She gave a young gay man from Houston his first shot, and she taught me that the first step is to stop waiting for someone else to do it. Tonight, nobody waited. Not the block walkers who knocked doors in August heat for candidates everyone said couldn’t win. Not the organizers who kept registering voters in counties the consultants had written off. Not the candidates who ran and lost in ‘02 and ‘06 and ‘14 and ‘18 and ‘22 and did it anyway, because every one of those campaigns built something the next one stood on. Not the donors who gave when the smart money said Texas was a lost cause. Not the young people who looked at a state that had never once voted for them and decided to make it vote for them. Not the Tejano moms in the Valley, the suburban dads in Collin County, the church ladies in my beloved Houston who have been doing this work since before James Talarico was born. Tonight belongs to all of them. To Gina and James and their families, who carried the weight of 30 years of hope with grace. To the staff who haven’t slept since the primary. To every Texan who got told no for three decades and showed up one more time. The lights are back on in Texas. I know Ann is watching from heaven tonight, and I know exactly what that grin looks like. Thank you, Texas. Thank you, everyone. Now let’s go to work. #TX2026

This Haley Stevens thing reminds me that gas in Michigan is $4.57 and diesel is $6.68 because the President started a war with Iran that Mike Rogers has been wanting for his entire professional life.

Sign of a winning campaign I’m sure. Oh and all because he doesn’t like that Bloomberg is reporting on the lawsuit from his canvassers over unpaid wages and discrimination.
I'm told that Mike Lawler's campaign informed Bloomberg that it is "revoking all RSVPs and press credentials for Bloomberg reporters." The Lawler campaign told Bloomberg any reporter who tries to attend will be "treated as a trespasser."

What Stevens did is insane and wrong — no doubt. However, you called Joe Biden, “a rapist,” and you support Vladimir Putin, — so maybe sit this one and every other one out.
Haley Stevens’ betrayal today shows us it’s not that progressive Democrats, or even democratic socialists, need their own party. It’s that politicians like Haley Stevens always had more in common with Republicans like Mike Rogers and Donald Trump than with the Democratic base. And now she admits it. That’s why it’s so important to run democratic primaries. It’s not enough to send Democrats to Washington, we have to send Democrats who are fighting for the things working class voters want!

Obviously Stevens endorsing Rogers is wrong, insane, and stupid — but my man, you of all people don’t ever get to lecture anyone about “failing a profound moral test.”
In addition to being politically stupid, Democrats like Stevens and her ardent establishment supporters have been failing a profound moral test as well.

💯 this ⬇️ For the record, I want AES to win for the same reasons Jeb does. But he has missed every opportunity to reassure voters here. It should never have come to this.
Maybe Stevens has genuine concerns about the incredibly tepid approach El-Sayed and his campaign have taken to pushing back against antisemtisim for the past three months. She’s praising him for finally denouncing a blatantly antisemitic ad being run, purportedly, on his behalf (that he really should have denounced immediately tbh). She’s asking him to repudiate a dictator-admiring, antisemitic podcaster whom he repeatedly campaigned with; refrain from using antisemitic tropes in his campaign; and not highlight the support of an illiberal, antisemitic, white nationalist rightwing talk show host. Which of her asks is unreasonable? There are many Dems who want to find a way to yes with El-Sayed but have understandable concerns about the conduct of his campaign during the primary and the general. Personally, I think Michiganders should vote for him regardless — simply because Trump is an existential threat to the country. But it’s impossible to deny that El-Sayed’s approach to antisemitism hasn’t done a hell of a lot to assuage concerns or inspire confidence. Frankly, he shouldn’t need to be asked any of this in the first place. Each of Stevens’ asks is a layup — layups that a stronger, more principled nominee would have taken at every earliest opportunity. El-Sayed is hopefully, and more likely than not in this environment, about to be elected to the U.S. Senate. If so, he will be representing a state whose Jewish population has literally been under attack. When it comes to fighting antisemitism, it’s reasonable to ask him to do better.

I know this is controversial in some circles but I think people who donate large sums of money to Democrats are good and progressives should rethink their strategy of treating them like the enemy.
Reid Hoffman is backing the truck up here at the end to help David Crowley win in Wisconsin. $8 million over the last month.

New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.
