Charger Logistics plans to buy up to 500 Aurora Driver-powered driverless trucks (non-binding MOU), delivered over 2027–2028. ir.aurora.tech/news-events/p… Our take: carriers owning AV fleets is a real step toward scale.
Waymo has started the process to launch fully autonomous ride-hailing in Spain, beginning in the Madrid region. Testing with 16 all-electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicles is authorized by the Community of Madrid and Spain's traffic authority (DGT), on public roads in Madrid, Alcobendas and Getafe. Goal: first riders in 2027.
Our take: Madrid now has Waymo, WeRide with Uber, and Bolt all preparing robotaxi service. Several operators in one city means more real-world safety data, faster.

8/ Our take: every story sits at a stage. This week's shipping column: record used-EV share, Metra's ordered battery trains, a live bus lane.
From next week we'll tag each one: announced, piloting, or shipping.
