It's that time of year again! Not when you tell your partner you love them or get your date flowers… it’s when you fall in love with animation community! A portion of our board members are finishing their terms, and while we're sad to see them go, we're excited for YOU to apply!
If you're a Freelancer, Studio Director, Creative Director, Student, VFX Artist, Illustrator, Animator, Motion Artist, Game Developer, Graphic Designer or someone in between, we invite you to apply to become an official Nice Moves Board Member! Just follow the link below!
Applications close February 28th. Any questions? We have answers! Either at our email, [email protected], or our discord, where you can message any board member directly!

This month's Monthly Mover is Eric Bernhagen! 👋
Eric is a Saint Paul-based filmmaker and stop motion animator with a passion for creating surreal stop motion and live action films that, in his words, “make little sense and cost little to make – neither of which are by choice.”
Check out and support his tactile and truly original art at youtube.com/@ericbernhagen
Eric is new to the Nice Moves community, and he looks forward to sharing his experience and learning from others.

Applications to join the Nice Moves Board in 2026 are OPEN! Give back to the community, foster greater animation knowledge and mentorship in MN, and also get a snazzy title for your Linkedin to sound cool, I guess?
Well, I think volunteering is cool at least!
Join a team of artists dedicated to supporting the local Minnesotan industry and surrounding areas. (Plus, as a board member, you’ll get to vote on how we guide our ship forward.)
We accept board members of all creative backgrounds and levels of experience– but most importantly, those with a deep and passionate love for seeing their fellow artists thrive.

This February, we want to celebrate the love we have for our community by giving YOU the spotlight! Nice Moves will be hosting a VIRTUAL Show and Tell on February 19th on Discord!
That’ll give us time to review and assign you a slot before the event. Last time there was a lot of interest, so know we prioritize first come, first served, and also slight curation for diversity of medium/projects!
