If you are heading to your local pub tonight, very likely your beer (not lager) is brewed with polyploid S. cerevisiae. These are sterile and considered genetic dead-ends. @SimoMozzachiodi didn't agree with this... see below. Big congrats for driving the project. Cheers🍻

We are thrilled to announce that our latest paper on effect of domestication on yeast populations is officially out! Domestication indeed stands out as the most dramatic, life history-changing event in the intra-species evolution of S. cerevisiae!
