Wished @matrixdotorg was more adopted as a messaging standard.
[Matrix] is an open and decentralised communication protocol. Basically like Slack or Discord, but you can self-host and use any compatible client to message others (or built one yourself!).
Ofc for most users hosting a Matrix instance is too complicated, but you could just choose a provider and seamlessly communicate with others, regardless of their provider or client. You would be in full control of your data and easily switch to a new provider if needed.
I spawned my own instance now and using @element_hq as client. Using it for my @openclaw agent instead of Discord or Telegram. Works great!
Avoiding the temptation to over-engineer personal projects is a constant battle.
Having worked in professional environments with mature tooling and processes for over a decade now, I have become so accustomed to a certain way of building software.
When building personal projects, it is so natural to try to replicate those ways because obviously they are proven and battle-tested.
It’s hard to break out of this tunnel vision and realize things can be much simpler. Ofc simplicity comes with trade-offs, but for personal projects, those are usually perfectly fine.

Hey @JoviDeC, I started working on @effectiv_app again and want to give Hooked-Form a try. Which validation library would you recommend? Before I used Yup (with Formik), but looks like this is no longer desirable? Nice work btw, looks clean and easy 🙌
