🚨 OpenAI and Anthropic will almost definitely stall this year
- compute constraints
- safety fears
- alignment delays
- stock market softness
- Dems hating on AI
This will create a huge opening for Grok and Gemini. This is the best chance for them to close the gap

A Democrat running for state senate in NH did not meet residency requirements and publicly withdrew 8 weeks before the election.
48% of people still voted for him, even when he literally could not win.
We have to model most voters as knowing quite close to nothing at all.
People keep trying to tell me that BEING A FREE STATER was part of the reason a couple dozen free staters lost their elections. Yury did even better than he ever had over the other Republican who’s not a free stater. It had nothing to do with him being a free stater that he lost, it is simply the fact that independent chose blue this time around. Last night on the show I named all the free staters I personally know are out and proud who made it in, I should have counted but there are still like 12 in.
Are there 12 crypto libertarians in your state house outside of New Hampshire? No.

SpaceX did something on November 4 that most companies building AI infrastructure never bother to do. It sent its own people into an elementary school auditorium in Cochise, Arizona, put the numbers on the table and took questions from a packed room.
Riley Trettel, who leads energy and supercomputer development at SpaceX, said it plainly: "SpaceX is the owner, and with approval, will be the builder and the owner of the project long term."
Then he laid out what the county gets. Up to 40% off residential power bills for Sulphur Springs co-op members for the life of the project. $3.6 billion in new power lines paid by SpaceX and handed to the co-op, which takes on no debt. $30 to $100 million a year in new property tax, with a 20% cut in everyone else's county property taxes. Enough one-time sales tax to pay off the county jail bond. Dry cooling, so the whole campus uses about as much water as 20 to 30 homes. No gas turbines on site. Up to $50 billion invested and about 1,000 permanent jobs.
On the latest All-In, one of the hosts brought up the video of that night. "These two very bright, earnest people from SpaceX trying to explain how they're going to reduce electricity cost by 40%. They don't use water. They'll reduce property taxes by 20%." About Riley and Katie: "Good SpaceX employees. They should be proud of how they conducted themselves."
They were shouted over from the first slide. Months of headlines about data centers draining aquifers and spiking bills did that work before anyone walked in. Some residents stayed after the presentation to tell SpaceX they want it there. The county's planning and zoning hearing is December 9.

The last guy to be interviewed by Charlie Kirk happens to be the first guy to post an out-of-context quote of Chappelle talking about Kirk, and, once it goes viral, uses the tweet to promote his interview with Kirk. Deceptively edited, manufactured rage. The right becomes the left. The user’s bio says “all views my own.” This typically translates to “I’m paid to tweet things.”

Asahi Linux, which works to enable support for Apple Silicon Macs on Linux, is dropping the MIT license… and moving to the GNU GPL.
Why? Because, according to their statement, of “bad faith actors” who “exploit” open source code by… using it in other open source code.
“We were made aware of multiple attempts to exploit our permissive licensing to hijack our work, with a direct view to replacing the project and aggressively monetising Linux on Apple Silicon.”
This licensing change (MIT to GPL) is happening immediately following Omarchy adding support for Apple Silicon, building upon the Asahi work with the usage of LLMs.
And Asahi does not approve of AI usage. At all.
“We broadly forbid the use of generative Al,” says the Asahi AI policy. “A contributor using an LLM … may be issued with a first and final warning. A contributor found to have concealed extensive LLM use will be banned immediately.”
