For anyone else jumping the X ship, I’m @ nigeljayauthor on Threads and on BlueSky: bsky.app/profile/nijay.bsky.… I’d love to connect with you on either/both networks - I’ve not regretting leaving here and won’t be back - but I miss you. X

I’m just going to use threads. I’ve got about 100 followers on there instead of 25K but 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m nigeljayauthor on there - haven’t really been using it but going to start because… well, the obvious.

Don't let this photo fool you. When I tried to get her in the car to go on this walk, she jumped out of the car and chased a cat around the local gardens for about 10 minutes, ignoring every attempted recall. She's a monster and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Feeling old! 8 years ago today my debut was published... almost as long as I've been writing book 4, it seems! ☺ amazon.co.uk/Beat-Rain-relat…

7 years ago today, I sent off final edits to my publisher for my 2nd novel The Pursuit of Ordinary. Still proud of it but I’d never put myself through the writing process again 🤣

In U.K. for a bit. Am walking the monster. In france, the ‘bonjour’ is a big thing - you’d never pass anyone without giving them a nod and a Bonjour. I’ve been nodding and saying hi to everyone I pass and without fail they’ve all looked away scowling as if I’m a serial killer 🤣

This has been making me once a year for nearly a decade now, every time it pops up in my 'memories'. You're welcome.

Don’t normally share these anymore but really! Could have got it on second go but apparently had to choose every other possible variant first! Wordle 1,101 6/6* ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Useful. It’s an everyday occurrence - thank the stars I now know how to describe it.

In another life, 15 years ago, I was a cheeky cock-er-ny in the cockney quartet at the Theatre Royal in My Fair Lady. I don't have any regrets about moving to France but when I heard that Brighton Theatre Group were being allowed to do Les Mis, I did have a bit of a wobble!

Mum called to say happy Father’s Day - which 14YO overheard and mumbled Happy Father’s Day also. I said ‘do I get a Father’s Day hug?’ She said ‘ooh no’ as if I’d asked her to eat snot. Feeling the love! 🤣 #happyfathersday

This was my dad 5 years ago. He’s in a care home now, dementia means he never remembers who my kids are, only sometimes knows me (or thinks I’m my brother) and doesn’t always know my mum. Makes Father’s Day a little bittersweet. #feelingnostalgic #happyfathersdaydad

5K run with the monster then came home and accidentally wrote 2K words of Baps Fontaine. Hadn’t even planned to write today but she wouldn’t shut up in my head so wrote a lovely little scene that wasn’t in my plan. #amwriting
