Little corner of our room.

Finally, the photo for VIP ticket holders of the Asian Kung-Fu Generation 30th Anniversary Live in Jakarta was sent to our email more than 10 days after the event. So I want to continue my story here. During the group photo session, I brought a Sol-fa cassette that was released 22 years ago. Unfortunately, in the end I didn’t manage to get it signed by the members. But the best part was when I entered the photo session room and showed the cassette to the members. Even though it was only for a short moment, they talked a little about it. It is the only official cassette release by Sony Music Entertainment for AKG, and it was released exclusively in Indonesia. That made it really special for me, even though I couldn’t get their signatures. Another story about the Sol-fa cassette, I actually have two copies. One is still sealed, and the other one I already use and often play on my cassette deck at home. When the concert was getting closer, I posted in the AKG Reddit group about this cassette and said I was willing to give one to a fan who was coming to the Jakarta concert. It got quite a lot of responses, and many people sent me private messages at that time. In the end, I replied to them one by one. I introduced myself and explained that since I could only give one, it would be difficult for me to choose. I wanted to give it to someone I really felt deserved it. There were two strong candidates, a guy from the USA and another one from Australia. I felt both of them deserved it because they came all the way to Indonesia just to watch AKG. The guy from the USA was quite surprising. Before going to Jakarta, he was already in Bali for a short trip. Even more surprising, he was staying only around 10 minutes from my place in Sanur. So we decided to meet and have dinner together, and in the end I gave the cassette to him. He is the guy sitting next to me in the photo, holding the cassette from me. I feel like it was not just a coincidence that he was in Bali and randomly contacted me through Reddit. He might be one of the people who came from the farthest distance to Indonesia just to see AKG. Another story, in Jakarta we also met the guy from Australia who also wanted the cassette. We had lunch together on the day of the concert. Surprisingly, he is a Chinese-Australian who has close family connections in China that later moved to Makassar, Indonesia. He even visits Makassar quite often, and Makassar is also my hometown and my wife’s hometown. It really felt like a very unique coincidence. The Asian Kung-Fu Generation concert in Jakarta brought us together with new people, and created new stories that made the whole experience even more memorable. @AKG_information @gotch_akg @kiyoshiakg
