When someone isn’t listening, that doesn’t prove they’re stubborn. It shows you’ve misread who you’re talking to.
His fix is simple. Stop talking and start watching.
Give people silence and they’ll show you who they are and what they want, usually faster than you’d expect.
Most arguments run long because we keep explaining ourselves to someone who isn’t really there.

Imagine this is your dad, brother, or God forbird, thirty years from now, your son. Wakes up early, works his butt off all day to provide for his wife and children, comes in quietly after the whole house is asleep, and crawls into bed to get a few hours of sleep before doing it all over again. Every dad and husband recognizes the desperation and pain on this man's face.

Northwestern University head football coach David Braun is the most recent prominent sports figure to spotlight the failure of legalizing commercialized sports gambling across the country:
