As much as I want to love Slackbot, Codex does a way better job finding the right slacks than Slackbot does...

Watching nobody wants this season 3, and my wife and I went crazy hearing fire alarm battery beeping sounds and went around changing out batteries in each alarm only to realize it was from the show… why would they torture us like that???

👋 If you ARE one of the few people thinking about the language and grammar of software interfaces (or design and brand systems, or expressive design) then I would love to tell you about the work we are doing on the model design team at Figma to augment creative workflows!
Replying to @dankuntz
the real answer is simply that very few people have thought about the language or grammar of software interfaces sufficiently to view it as correctly solved problem. And those people are certainly not training LLMs in that way. Programming has a very obvious headstart in this way.

3D Printing is SO freaking fun. I made a site with @figma Make + Payload (CMS) that auto publishes each print from my Bambu P2S as it's printing / printed. noah3dprints.figma.site/

So excited about Figma’s Config India launches! June's Config themes were around Tools and Materials (Motion, Shaders, Plugins, Weave, etc) This time around, it’s all about Context and Workflows (Code Layers, Design Systems, Specs, Payload) Let’s take a closer look…

Payload: You can now work with real data, directly in Figma Make. It’s never been so easy to manage an entire backend without having to touch a line of code I used it most recently to share my 3D print log with friends automatically (noah3dprints.figma.site) and it worked like a charm!

All of these launches bring together richer context for you, your agents, and your team to design the best products And the Figma agent lives at the center, making it easier than ever to explore ideas quickly, edit directly on the canvas, and build with your team in one shared space I’m so proud of the team for all the hard work that went into this, and can’t wait to see what you all build with these new workflows in hand! <2hrs.. get ready! throwback: I had the privilage of visiting 🇮🇳 India back in 2018. We hosted a design systems event at Innov8 in Bangaluru and met w/ several companies I saw firsthand how vibrant the Design Community is there and I'll never forget it. What a special place!

Figma's Dylan Field says our definition of "slop" keeps silently moving: "I said, 'AI will lower the floor and raise the ceiling.' And I had to correct myself, because actually that's not what we're seeing yet." "We're seeing it lower the floor. It's more democratized to do something. But the ceiling doesn't seem to have changed." "Anything you can verify, AI's great at. Math being number one, maybe cybersecurity number two... You get five designers in a room, they can't agree all the time on exactly what they should do. And that's what's interesting about design. There is not one solution." "A lot of the stuff that we call slop wouldn't be stuff we'd call slop a month ago or two months ago. As the models change, our definition of slop changes." "The craft that you imbue into something is reflective of your thinking. It's reflective of your care. People pick up on it. Whether they can articulate it or not, they can tell." "It creates a lower bound that you have to exceed, but it doesn't define the upper bound. You define the ceiling." @zoink w/ @sophiadew on @MTSLive
