Imo it should be closer so it’s easier to close out on. EuroLeague shoots it a lot too but it’s a harder shot cause it’s always contested.
He hit more 3s than the Heat last night, and the Wolves as a unit launched 50. With how skilled shooters are becoming is it time to consider change? Is the optimal place for the 3-point line now, really where it was when it was first introduced in 1979?

Over the last 12 months, he has attempted exactly 6 shots outside the paint. He credits James Harden for teaching him how to read the game. "When I was playing with Harden, before every game, he would have me come to him and tell him what the other team's pick-and-roll coverage usually was. That helped me because I learned how to read the game." (3/5)

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again Tatums greatest asset is that he’s so versatile, a FO can just go bargain shopping for any talent and he can make it work Guy won a title with bigs who couldn’t rebound and guards who couldn’t dribble. He’s a historically elite enabler
Such a complete basketball player. Whatever’s asked of him he does, and he does it playing extremely hard. Go guard a 7 footer ✅ Get off the ball & spot up for 3 ✅ Set screens to create advantages ✅ Get your hands dirty & go rebound ✅ Get your teammates involved ✅

JUST IN: ESPN is reporting the Las Vegas and Seattle expansion teams are increasingly expected to officially join the NBA as soon as 2028. Unreal.

If I was a clippers fan he dead on hat watch for life bro To be fair to kawhi he didn't make them do that brand deal they got lazy and couldn't make him do a 30 sec ad for trees
It’s sad to say this but there’s really no way for a Clipper fan to fondly remember Kawhi. Not everything was in his control but he under delivered and set the franchise back significantly. This feels like the final chapter in what’s been a bizarre saga to say the least.

Kawhi was bad news from start to finish. Clippers will likely not go star hunting like they did on Kawhi for a VERY long time

From the franchise having to dish out a future MVP in Shai alongside all those picks (one of which became All-NBA Jalen Williams), ending with this absolute asswhooping, the Kawhi saga is DEFINITELY not going to be remembered fondly by Clippers fans

The Harden ISO ball era was something to see. In the Tracking Era, there have been 484 instances of a player having 100+ isos in a month. Harden is responsible for 48 of them, the most of any player. He also has 8 of the top 10 spots for most isos in a single month.

Proctor and Meleek becoming players wow
These little Arizona mini-camps are a big reason why Harden teams tend to win 50+ games and always qualify for the postseason. Cleveland’s Top 7 feels certain, but they need internal improvement from some youngsters to improve from last season. A couple of them on display here.

Harden's career earnings will now reach $511 million, making him the fourth player in NBA history to eclipse the $500 million mark, joining the 76ers' LeBron James, the Rockets' Kevin Durant and the Warriors' Stephen Curry.  Harden turns 37 next Wednesday (Aug. 26), and when the 11-time NBA All-Star officially signs, he will become the second player in league history to sign for over $90 million in guaranteed salary at age 37 or older, with LeBron being the other.
BREAKING: James Harden has agreed to a new three-year, $97 million contract to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, with a player option and a trade kicker, agents Mike Silverman, Troy Payne and Brandon Grier of Equity Sports told ESPN.

I recently signed a 2-year, $12M NBA contract. Looking back, 3 decisions shaped how I got here: 1. Turned down an extra ~$250K to transfer for my 5th year and stayed at Stanford. 2. Chose to go undrafted instead of getting drafted so I could pick the best situation. That led me to Denver. 3. Turned down a ~$2M guaranteed extension to bet on myself in free agency. I risked injury, poor play, or getting nothing. I ended up earning roughly 3x that offer. Three times I had the opportunity to take the money/status in front of me. Three times I chose the option I thought gave me the best long-term expected value. $250K → No. Getting drafted → No. $2M guaranteed → No. Eventually → $12M. Sometimes the biggest risk is taking the safe option too early. #NBA #Sportsbusiness #Finance

feel like fans overlook mechanical limitations a ton when talking about shooting volume not every shot is just infinitely scalable because you shoot a good % someone like shai needs that stepback a lot of the time just to get his 3 off
An underrated aspect of a players shooting ability is how quick their release is. It shifts what’s considered an “open look”, which stresses the defenses close-outs. Sam Merrill is a great example of this, he swung a Game 7 by lasering home shots that were barely in his hands.
