In physical AI, simulation and real-world data are not either or, rather they are complementary data sources. With Live Anomaly Detection (LAD), our vision systems spot when things go wrong. Because this happens in only ~1% of picks, production data is scarce. Our team uses simulation to overcome this issue: We render SKUs in Blender, varying from slightly worn to half-open and augment real production footage. Across 12,000 videos from new stations, we achieve miss rate reduction of over 2x at 1% false positives.
