Here in Austria, a great importance is placed on academic/professional titles. But this drop-down list of several DOZEN of distinct titles is something else. #austrianProblems #crappyDesign #lol

CNN had better let Anderson Cooper black out on New Yearβs Eve for this.
Giving this a closer read later today. #poptwitter friends, check this impressive collaboration out π
New: Life expectancy for every single neighbourhood in Torontoβall 158! Our most ambitious project yet at @TheLocal_TO reveals striking differences in life, and death, across the city. thelocal.to/life-expectancy-β¦
@monjalexander Have you seen this study? (I've been off the map for the past year.... hi!). Going to attend their webinar tomorrow and would be cool to have other demography/mortality people to mull this one over with :)

As part of @TheLocal_TO's life expectancy analysis, I spent time in Moss Park, where life expectancy is by far the lowest in the city. I dug into the reasons behind the stats, and tried to capture how those lost years reverberate throughout the community. thelocal.to/life-expectancy-β¦
Hey @BradMBradford thereβs a dead juvenile raccoon in the fenced yard next to my momβs but 311 said it canβt be removed unless brought to the curb. I think this is bad policy that makes it hard to get rid of a dangerous carcass!!
I realise you cannot change the rules or personally remove this raccoon carcass. But this is a small but important municipal issue I would like to draw your attention to (on Glenfern).
On the one hand, I love Toronto and it's been nice being back in my hometown after 18 years away. OTOH, can't wait to return to Vienna where the just existing seems to leave you teetering on the edge of abject poverty.
This picture is in essence the state of Toronto. A once world class city. Clunky sprawling 500sqft condo developments at $2300/unit/month. An arterial highway build next to a river, in a flood plain. Longest commute in North America. Among the highest costing in the world. Vast sub-grade infrastructure in need of repair and replacement (sections at 60-100yrs old). No notable transportation infrastructure improvements since the 1980s.
In comparison actual world class cities have: multi-levels of traffic, pedestrian use, transit use. High speed rails, bullet trains. State of the art underground infrastructure, waste water treatment and storm water management. Lower levels of all buildings used exclusively as markets, small businesses, cafes, grocery stores. Sprawling urban cityscapes - featuring trees, gardens, entertainment areas, walking and biking only streets.

Population projecting is risky work. πThe projected population growth of 6% changed to a population decline of 24% in two years in the case of Czechia by 2100. This also indicates that small changes to the projected parameters can significantly affect the result.

Spent 27 minutes on the phone with @Aeroplan trying to change my reward flight back to Vienna, only to cancel it, because 1) Website is garbage and times out at payment 3 days in a row; 2) Outsourced agent couldn't figure out how to change the flight.
