❗️ Cargo thieves have stolen more than $100M in hardware bound for US data centers since June, NBC News reports.
They hijack freight-broker accounts, post fake loads and send carriers malware links to take over their accounts too.
In one of the biggest heists, an SUV struck the security escort of a trailer carrying ~$10M in server rack components from California to Texas.
The trailer sped off. An app was tracking it, but its coordinates had apparently been spoofed.
In another, a sedan hit the off-duty police escorts of a $13M server load bound for Georgia, and the trailer drove on.
None of the equipment from either load has been found.

Hosono announced he will issue the "emergency request" on Nov. 2 with the new Disaster Prevention Agency launch. It urges standard stockpiles of 3+ days food/water/toilets for known quake risks like Nankai Trough, not any imminent threat.

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro was banned from leaving the country amid an ongoing investigation into his links to a money laundering scheme, according to Globo. Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes "ordered the cancellation of all Brazilian passports belonging to Flávio Bolsonaro, including diplomatic ones, and the surrender, within 24 hours, of passports from other nationalities that he may possess. The decision also prohibits Flávio from maintaining contact, by any means, with Willer Tomaz," his friend and business associate Willer Tomaz, who fled to Miami to evade the investigation.
