🔥 Rep. Joyce Beatty just shut it down.
She refused to let Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent waste her time with filibustering.
“No, no, no we’re not doing that with me.”
Straight answers or move on. No games. No evasion.
When politicians actually use their time to demand accountability instead of theater… that’s how oversight is supposed to work.
Power move. 💪

Jamie Davis’ narrow loss to U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow, R-Baton Rouge, has given Louisiana Democrats hope they could unseat a slate of Republican statewide elected officials next year, including Gov. Jeff Landry. #lalege #lagov

Before Chauna Banks went to bed last night, she was in third place for Louisiana's 6th Congressional District.
When she woke up, she was in the lead.

Quite frankly I think it’s idiotic to suggest that Kamala Harris shouldn’t run again just because she lost to Donald Trump in 2024. And I have yet to hear a good response to why she shouldn’t run.
That election was not a referendum on her ability to lead but a reflection of the ignorance and disinformation that flooded the electorate. When we talk about that election we cannot leave out the facts.
Over 75m ppl voted for Kamala Harris and she did that in 107 days. Kamala Harris is the second most voted for democratic nominee in US history. We did not go anywhere we are clearly still here and the tide has shifted. This next presidential election will be the opportunity.

.@KamalaHarris: “Now it is about governance. We have to be clear that when we take back the gavel, when we take back the power, and thank God it was both the House and the Senate, we have to be prepared to lead. And we must lead with a certain level of ruthlessness. And by that, I do not mean cruelty, but we must be uncompromising in our commitment to actually deliver on the actual needs of the American people.”

Symone to Kamala Harris: I have heard a lot from folks that your attention to them on the ground was helpful. Scott Colom told me that directly. The fact that you came down, that you were invested in Mississippi, it didn't just make a difference to him, it made a difference to the people on the ground.
Eugene: Abdul El-Sayed said the same thing.

Jamie Davis came within 1.8 points of flipping a U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana.
From Oct 12–25, national Dem committees and allied groups spent millions on ads in other close Senate races. In LA, that figure was $0, exl spending by Jamie’s own campaign and the LADP.

Kamala Harris paid attention to the South for years, before others realized something was brewing on the ground. She focused on uplifting local leaders and boosting turnout in districts Democrats had forgotten. These stops don't even include all the fundraisers she hosted in CA for Southern candidates. Stop disrespecting her work.
"Some Democrats have just basically said, 'Oh, that's nice if you wanna do some work in the South, but we can't win the South, therefore we will not put the resources into it.' That's a huge mistake… and if we're going to be a party that cares about all the people, we have to put the resources into speaking with them and most importantly, first and foremost, listening."
Kamala Harris (August 2026)
