Can a used electric SUV be the ultimate money-saver? This owner swapped to a 2022 Vauxhall Mokka-e Ultimate and found that staying on a standard electric rate actually worked out cheaper. Plus, the self-parking tech was a major surprise.

October Sales in U.K. Fri @SMMT - normally a slow month ahead of December push.
BEV 32% marketshare and will easily achieve the adjusted ZEV mandate for 2026. BEV now on track to overtake Petrol sales, undoubtedly a result of fuel price hikes caused by the Iranian conflict. Diesel is dead.
BEV plus PHEV / REEV likely to exceed 50% marketshare as consumers understand the need for energy diversity.
The mandate is working @jreynoldsMP but consumer behaviour will always correlate closely to pump prices as we ween ourselves off the oil dependency.

Brand new EV been on SORN for months.
Except itโs 6 years old and been SORN for 1 month after MOT expired.
But, the amusing thing is, had it been a petrol car they wouldnโt have looked at it twice, never mind taken a picture and Googled the reg plate.
Cars are SORN every day for all sorts of reasons.
Itโs always funny seeing their weird cope.

As the owner invited me to post this picture on social media of his appalling and selfish parking, here it is ๐
p.s. the car park was actually quiet, too.

With all the talk of preparing for emergencies/power outages why no talk in the media of many EVs being equipped with V2L capability that keep the house running? Missed opportunity to talk about one of the many benefits? More likely than BS about freezing in a storm on the road.

A car owner in Beijing found his car burnt out by the roadside.
Heโd left an NFC card on the wireless charging pad, which apparently tried to charge it, heating it until it burst into flames.

๐งฎThe numbers:
๐ 3.6 miles/kWh average ๐ First charge at home at 4.99p/kWh ~ยฃ4 for about 270 miles.
โก~ยฃ125 spent at Tesla Superchargers
