In my last post, I found that $1,988 was the top-selling .com charm price under $2K. Some of you asked what happens at $2K and just above it, so I pulled publicly reported .com sales for $2,000, $2,195, $2,199, $2,488, $2,495, $2,499 and $2,500.
$2,000 has 10,060 sales and $2,500 has 6,769. In the past 12 months, they had 267 and 183. Some of that comes from negotiated deals and auctions that end on round numbers, so it's not a clean comparison with set prices.
Over all time, $2,488 leads with 1,507 sales, more than three times $2,499's 459. That's the same "88" pattern that made $1,988 the winner last time.
The past year looks different. $2,499 leads with 69 sales, more than double $2,199's 31, and $2,488 dropped to 21. It matches what I saw under $2K, where $1,999 has been catching up to $1,988 lately.
Takeaways:
- Prices ending in 88 have the longer track record, both under and over $2K.
- Prices ending in 99 have more momentum over the past year.
- Prices ending in 95 sit in the middle and never come out on top.
Caveats:
These are only publicly reported sales. They count how many sales each price got, not how often a listing at that price sells, so a popular asking price will get more sales partly because more domains are listed at it.
Treat this as a signal, and test prices on your own names.
Which side are you on, prices ending in 88 or 99?

Twitter 2 has officially launched.
A judge gave the tentative ruling that X "abandoned" its rights to the Twitter trademark when Elon Musk tried to sue the new Twitter, so they've launched their own platform to compete with X.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Operation Bluebird launched twitter.now (not "Twitter 2") as $20 paid early access claiming X abandoned trademarks. Judge made tentative April 2026 oral comments on possible abandonment of some marks; no final written ruling. X's lawsuit ongoing.

Transfer.now successfully defended in UDRP.
We have successfully defended our premium .Now domain, Transfer.now, against a UDRP challenge brought by TransferNow.net, which also controls TransferNow.com.
The complaint failed on both legitimate interest and bad faith – the two elements that actually matter in serious domain disputes.
That's an important victory and a clear message: owning a two-word brand does not give anyone rights in premium new gTLD domains they don't own.
We'd take it further: any UDRP case in which the complainant is effectively seeking to upgrade its domain name should be subject to heightened scrutiny by panels.
From a branding perspective, Transfer.now is a much more powerful domain than TransferNow.net or TransferNow.com.
Here's why:
.Now does not equal "now". While "now" is just a word, .Now is an exciting brand space.
If you own Transfer.now, you own the premium word "Transfer" in the .Now brand space. That gives the domain an instant premium feel – something two-word .com and .net domains simply cannot replicate. That's a substantial difference.
Furthermore, while the two-word .com and .net domains effectively allow for only one brand name – "TransferNow" – premium .Now domains usually allow for three brand options: "Transfer.now", "Transfer", and "TransferNow".
Most of the time, the optimal brand choice for a .Now domain is simply the SLD. For Giant.now, it's Giant. For Escape.now, it's Escape. For Handsome.now, it's Handsome. .Now works as a brand space that elevates the brand, just as .com usually does.
That's not always the case, though. For Transfer.now, we would say the strongest brand choice is definitely the domain itself, with the "T" capitalized.
"Transfer.now" does not equal "TransferNow" – and it is a much stronger brand.
"Transfer.now" is a premium name inside the .Now brand space. "TransferNow" is a two-word brand.
It also lets "now" stay lower-case, putting the focus exactly where it should be: on "Transfer".
The right comparison for "Transfer.now" is not TransferNow.net or TransferNow.com. It's "Transfer.com".
We'd argue that "Transfer.now" is the only "Transfer." domain and brand that can realistically challenge – and, with the right marketing, surpass – "Transfer.com" in terms of brand power.
We'll end this post by showcasing the brand through three promo videos we created for the domain.
And yes, Transfer.now is now available on TopDomains as a premium .Now brand – cleared for uses outside file transfer services.
