If what you need in your week is a cockatoo introducing himself to some 19 day old kittens, I have that for you.

This is horrible for science and for the country.
In an unprecedented move, the US National Institutes of Health has begun mass terminations of research grants that fund active scientific projects because they no longer meet “agency priorities”. go.nature.com/4i2EaIb

Holy crap. Pancreatic is one of the deadliest cancers. New paper shows personalized mRNA vaccines can induce durable anticancer T cells that attack pancreatic cancer. 75% of patients cancer free at three years.

Hey UNITED HEALTHCARE
I’m at a cancer treatment center getting my 27th dose of radiation. My doctor recommends 35. @UHC refuses to pay for more than 28. I’ve fought them for weeks to get full treatment approved. This is my Hail Mary to hopefully get them to reconsider.

I stopped in here to see what the kerfuffle is about scientific integrity. I have a list I use to keep up w a subset of the people I follow. Today the posts on that list are 100% pornography. This platform is official unusable for me. How sad. Find me at nparmalee.bsky.social

My sister died of leukemia in 1988 when she was 15. Her birthday is August 1st. A year or so ago I was contacted by a woman whose Nana is now buried next to my sister. My sister and her Nana share the same birthday. She takes flowers for my sister whenever she visits her Nana.

She just wanted me to know. It is the sweetest correspondence. She sends me pictures. Some people are just good at being good humans.

If you have a family history of cancer and something health wise is off please make them screen you for everything. We didn’t know the family was segregating a BRCA2 mutation until they found it in his pancreatic tumor. Massive genetic counseling fail. Advocate for yourself.

Hi. I haven’t been around here much lately. I’m in Los Angeles caring for my brother in law and his family. He is in home hospice for BRCA2 positive pancreatic cancer. We have lost so many people in the family, men and women. Someone please cure this disease.

I wondered today when airports and banks switched from Unix/Linux to Windows as I sat working unaffected on my Mac and the Linux HPCs while my hospital owned Dell did this.

BREAKING: Dozens of downtown Milwaukee bars and nightclubs are hosting drag shows each night this week so Republicans have nowhere to go to party after the convention.

Senate Dems should take one of their assorted gun control bills off the shelf, rename it something like "Trump Assassination Prevention Act," and force Rs to do a talking filibuster to block it
