I will read about anything that a serious writer writes about the 80s and 90s @NBA , but @SportsHistProf new book on Jordan in 90-91 is one of the better ones!
"The problem is that ((Jews)) occupy a socio-cultural gray area . Jews, although marginal, are not thought of as marginalized. Which means Jews can't be seen as representative of of a modern Britain (or US) that is intent on shifting..
marginalized experiences into the mainstream. Jews, therefore, as far as progressives are concerned, don't represent anything outside of themselves. No victory is claimed by championing their experience...
and this leads to a subtle- and unconscious - exclusion. " -@Baddiel . Not so subtle right now.

US officials say they have multiple strands of intelligence — including infrared satellite data — indicating that the deadly blast at a Gaza hospital on Tuesday was caused by Palestinian fighters. trib.al/Qmln9hS

We are grateful to @theJCPA for leading our community in unequivocally saying that the Jewish community rejects #Islamophobia, anti-Arab hate, #antisemitism, and all forms of bigotry.
We are proud to have been part of the drafting of this statement on behalf of our community.
NEW: Over 100 Jewish organizations unequivocally reject Islamophobia & anti-Arab hate.
As extremists exploit this moment, we are reminded that all of our communities’ safety & futures are inextricably linked — and recommit to fighting hate in all forms.

This.
Enough is enough. Universities have a responsibility to defend students’ rights to express even loathsome views. But when students start to excuse terrorist acts against civilians, universities have a duty to step in and be the adults in the room. My latest:

Watched @KatyTurNBC segment this afternoon. A doctor in Gaza expresses his concern for children in Gaza who have to suffer from an adult war and there has to be some path to get them to safety. Very understandable, and painful.
Then, a professor at Rutgers, says..
This is why it is so hard to witness these massacres by Hamas, and to be gaslighted. This is pure evil. Jews were hunted, and it is excused. It's horrible.
. @JoeBiden made a stronger statement condemning terrorism than most of the elite academic world.

It is really difficult to see how hard it is for some groups/people to say that what Hamas did is evil. No buts, No excuses, no justifications. Jewish lives matter seems to be words that are too hard to be spoken by groups that I thought were allies. It's a lonely island.

You wouldn’t view a mass shooting as an opportunity to highlight the select few passages of a shooter’s manifesto with which you agree, because to do so would reward violence and give the shooter what they wanted.
These attacks by Hamas should be treated the same way.
What's going on? @BostonChildrens still doesn't have updated covid booster for kids under 5?
