To sideload Android apps I've developed onto MY OWN PHONE, Google soon requires identity verification. Fine, as absurd as that is, I tried to comply. Three weeks later, I'm still blocked.
Google keeps rejecting my documents because I'm a foreigner living in Lebanon with limited documentation options. They're demanding proof of address, which is genuinely impossible for me to provide:
Banking statements? Lebanon's banking system has essentially collapsed. Opening a personal account here is nearly impossible. Everyone uses virtual cards without any address attached.
Utility bills? I don't have any. Due to government infrastructure failures, I have to be completely self-sufficient here - no municipal water (using a well), no government electricity service (solar panels + diesel generator).
Cable/TV bills? I don't use cable or watch TV.
Internet? ISP pays for my company, so I use (and maintain) their internet connection.
I'm living with full involuntary autonomy because the government here cannot deliver basic services, yet Google's verification system assumes everyone has access to standard Western documentation.
This is beyond ridiculous - I just want to test my own apps on my own device and maybe share them with family and friends.
Oh wait. I have one, municipal waste collection. But guess what? I'm quite sure they won't like it.

So what am I supposed to do? Blow my savings on a lawsuit against Google out of sheer desperation?

I have worked with many senior developers. Some brilliant ones probably could not solve a LeetCode problem on a whiteboard. They are the kind of people who read a task, you leave them in peace, and they come back with a solution. They would refuse to work without their tools, with artificial time constraints, and in a noisy environment.
Truly very sad.
