Poche persone mi fanno orrore come i coloni suprematisti ebrei. Pazzi fanatici, crudeli criminali.

Remember asking Mauro Vegni what he was most proud of in his time as Giro boss. And being surprised by answer.
‘Of parents of riders thanking me for looking after their kids.’
Think what you like about Giro & safety, but, after y’day, a useful message for cycling to remember.

The Moriah Wilson Netflix documentary released today will be essential viewing in the cycling community. A grim tale tactfully handled by @MarinaZenovich, & one in which the dignity & grace of Wilson‘s family are especially humbling.

Desperately sad to say that my friend Gianni Savio has passed away. There’s a lot to add - about his remarkable career, the riders he launched towards greatness, the laughs he & I shared over 20 years & hundreds of chats - but for now my thoughts are with his wife & daughters.

🇮🇹 sports writing has lost one of its sacred beasts, Gianpaolo Ormezzano. He tipped Merckx to win Sanremo in 1966 & Merckx never forgot it, always calling him ‘Il Senatore’ or ‘The Senator’ thereafter. Also one of the great, literary contributors to the legend of Grande Torino.

I don't mean to impugn anyone's physicality or stature, irrespective of an individual's obvious need for, say, tangibles such as elevator heels or intangibles such as chest-puffing demonstrations of pretend primacy. We are all, I am sure, doing the best we can with what we have.
But this has to be the most microscopic small-dick moment of overcompensation possible for any grown-ass politician, bar none.
