*NYSC ANAMBRA COORDINATOR CHARGES OUTGOING CORPS MEMBERS TO UPHOLD SCHEME’S IDEALS, EMBRACE ENTREPRENEURSHIP* The Anambra State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Pauline Ojisua, has charged outgoing corps members to uphold the ideals of the Scheme, remain patriotic and use the skills acquired during their service year to create jobs and contribute to national development. Mrs Ojisua gave the charge on Thursday, October 29, 2026, during the low-key Passing-Out Ceremony for the 2025 Batch C Stream I corps members across Anambra State, where 1,190 corps members received their Certificates of National Service (CNS). The State Coordinator, who monitored the exercise in Awka South Local Government Area, reminded the outgoing corps members that completing their national service was not the end of their journey but a foundation for greater responsibilities and future achievements. She urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the NYSC wherever life takes them, stressing that some of them could rise to become presidents, governors, captains of industry and local government chairmen. “You are ambassadors of the NYSC. Some of you will become presidents, governors, captains of industry and local government chairmen. Wherever you find yourselves, remember the ideals of the Scheme, particularly patriotism, selfless service, national unity and integration,” she said. Mrs Ojisua also admonished the corps members against abandoning the skills they acquired through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, urging them to embrace entrepreneurship, self-reliance and wealth creation. She noted that the scarcity of white-collar jobs made it necessary for young graduates to think creatively, develop their entrepreneurial abilities and explore opportunities to create employment for themselves and others. “Remember the SAED training you underwent and utilise it to create jobs and contribute to national growth. When you move forward in life, remember that the NYSC was part of your journey of growth,” she added. The State Coordinator further urged the outgoing corps members to sustain their contributions to community development and nation-building, reminding them that the values acquired during their service year should continue to guide their conduct after leaving the Scheme. The ceremony supervised by Mr Macaulay Deputy Director NYSC headquarterswas held simultaneously at NYSC zonal offices in Awka, Aguata, Onitsha and Nnewi, as well as designated local government secretariats across the state. Meanwhile, six corps members were placed on extension of service over disciplinary issues, underscoring the importance of discipline and compliance with the Scheme’s regulations. The presentation of the Certificates of National Service formally marked the completion of national service for the 2025 Batch C Stream I corps members in Anambra State.

805 CORPS MEMBERS COMPLETE SERVICE IN GOMBE, CHARGED TO EMBRACE ENTREPRENEURSHIP The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State has bid farewell to 805 Corps Members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Stream I following the successful completion of their one-year mandatory national service. The State Coordinator, Chinwe Nnenna Nwachuku, gave the charge during her farewell address to the outgoing Corps Members, commending their selfless contributions to education, healthcare and community infrastructure through the Community Development Service (CDS). She particularly lauded their interventions under the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD), noting that their efforts had improved access to essential health services and enhanced the well-being of host communities across the State. Against the backdrop of limited white-collar opportunities, Nwachuku urged the Corps Members to leverage the skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to establish businesses, create jobs and attain financial independence. She also drew their attention to the forthcoming 2027 general elections, noting that some of them may be engaged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as ad hoc staff. She charged them to remain strictly apolitical and to discharge any electoral responsibility with integrity, impartiality and professionalism to safeguard the credibility of the electoral process and the image of the Scheme. The Coordinator further admonished them to remain vigilant, security-conscious and patriotic in their future endeavours, while acknowledging the sacrifices of parents, guardians and other stakeholders who supported them throughout their service year. She appreciated the outgoing Corps Members for their service to Gombe State and wished them safe journeys and success in the next phase of their lives. The low-key Passing-Out marks the completion of their national assignment and their transition into the larger society, where they are expected to deploy the experience and skills gained during the service year for personal development and national progress.

Mr Gabriel advised the Corps Members to combine their academic qualifications and Certificates of National Service with their God-given abilities, determination and creativity to achieve success in life. A TOUCH OF HUMANITY: NYSC CORPS MEMBER RETICULATES WATER INTO EKULU PRIMARY SCHOOL AS A PERSONAL CDS PROJECT In a heartwarming demonstration of selflessness, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Onyedikachi Stephen Anya (EN/25C/0494), has extended an existing water supply to Ekulu Primary School, GRA, Enugu State, improving access to water and promoting better hygiene and sanitation. The Personal Community Development Service (CDS) project was commissioned in the presence of the NYSC Enugu State Coordinator, Mrs Oluwakemi Awolola, other Scheme officials, the school's headteacher, Mrs Eunice Chime, staff and pupils. Explaining his motivation, Anya disclosed that while serving at the school, he observed pupils leaving the premises during breaks to fetch water. They sometimes faced restrictions from security personnel and risked danger crossing the road. He also noted that water scarcity hindered drinking, classroom and restroom cleaning, toilet flushing, and proper sanitation, with some pupils reportedly defecating in the surrounding area. Moved by these challenges, he extended the existing water supply into the school, expressing gratitude to God for the project's successful completion and the relief it would bring to the pupils. Commending the intervention, the headteacher described it as a thoughtful contribution to the school's development that would significantly benefit both pupils and staff. Similarly, Mrs Awolola praised Anya's resilience, dedication and commitment, describing the project as a practical demonstration of NYSC's community development mandate. She explained that Corps Members are encouraged during their three-week orientation course to identify the felt needs of their host communities and create lasting legacies through CDS, one of the Scheme's cardinal programmes. The State Coordinator noted that the project would spare pupils the risks associated with crossing the road to access water. She urged the school authorities to maintain the facility to ensure its continued functionality and benefit future generations. Through this intervention, Anya has demonstrated how individual initiative and compassion can address community needs and translate the NYSC CDS mandate into meaningful, lasting impact. #NYSC #nyscenugu #enugu #birthdaycelebration #happybirthday #nyscnigeria #statecordinator #enugustate
